Dam West Beach — Hotel in Carlyle

Amazing place for the family! We make use of the picnic area/BBQ pits everytime we come and make an all day event out of it. If we forget anything, Walmart is super close! Recommend beach mats, sand toys, and sunscreen (no shade on the beach area) if bringing littles. Umbrellas are not so great as it does tend to be a little windy. A canopy is better. There are pavilions you can reserve for reasonable pricing throughout the season. Also, not too far on the other side of the dam is a spot for fishing. There are three lanes for loading your boat into the water. There’s also a sort of walk up sandy area if you have kayaks or canoes. It’s quite a bit of parking for folks going to the beach having a picnic or taking a boat out. So you shouldn’t have any issues there.

My first time visiting this area and it was very enjoyable! Ample parking spaces, shower areas to wash yourself off after swimming, plenty of trees for shade and pavillions with power outlets for electrical needs. Carlyle lake is very scenic and all around pleasant for the whole family! Make sure to call and be certain that they don't double book you if your reserving a pavillion area, it happened to us, but we didn't let it spoil our fun! I plan on coming...
