First off, I give a three star only because of my own experiences. Please read through as I know many reviews aren't very descriptive.... Tall Chief is beautiful if you ask me. This was our first stay in our Thousand Trails membership. Being from the Midwest and Denver where it's lacking, the greenery of the area is actually quite stunning. The staff were all very friendly and remained so for the entire two weeks we stayed. We didn't use the pool area but it looked clean and well kept. It and the other lodge are easily accessible and from my understanding are great places to go if you DO need wifi. There is no wifi in the camp. We had full 5G service here with Verizon. The other campers seemed fairly clean while we were there. A few sites did look like they exploded from the inside out. I'm assuming those were long termers. Far and in between though. I do have to knock a star for the fact no sites have sewer hookups. This is fairly understandable though as it appeared that a service needs to pump the septic tank by the dump station for the entire park. Most people I saw had a honey wagon. We don't have room for one so we used a pumping service halfway through our time there. The park provided the information for the service. It was $60 though. I'm assuming a sewer overhaul would be overly costly. It DOES make you a bit more conscious of water usage though. We had to take showers at the facilities which are kept up fairly well. Knocking another star as the majority of the sites are only 30 amp with antiquated posts. There are a few 50 amp sites but from what I saw they were all taken by RVers that are there on a more permanent basis. If you want/need one, you cannot get one. Normally 30 amp posts are sufficient but we ended up here during a heat wave and an entire section of the park blew after having several days of power issues (one of which was our site). The staff were very accommodating as they were just as upset about the outage and caught off guard as we were. Luckily we were able to move to a new site with a newer power post. Still 30 amp though. Luckily it cooled off quickly in the following days. The power grid definitely needs an upgrade. Especially as RVs have gotten larger. All in all, fantastic stay. Don't let a 3-star deter you from your own opinion. Vehicle Type: 5th Wheel - 38' length

This is a hard review; as far as proximity to Seattle, the campground is probably a winner. This is the closest place I found with trees and a relatively true camping atmosphere. There are no trails to hike. If you're in the north central side of the campground, there are dogs barking throughout the night and some sewage pumps whistling in the background. The mini golf is like an apocalyptic setting, one were humans died many years ago and the earth began to grow up and reclaim what was once a childhood golfing playground. Generally, location is great. The grounds themselves are clean, decent spots for RVs, and an area with trees in nature that's somewhat close to Seattle area. The RV spots are not level in my experience and require minor blocking. The facilities are a byproduct of deferred maintenance and inexperienced contractors. The newly remodeled bathroom has a heavy mold odor, and has difficulty keeping up with the steam from the two showers. Most of the electrical boxes at the sites I checked appear to be in poor condition with loose connections (I had to switch spots once because when it started raining, the underground electrical started to fail in the spot I was in.) The place has potential, there are other places in the area that are less tree-like, but are cheaper, and have full hookups without electrical problems. The laundry room is clean , functional, and top notch!! The washers and dryers far exceed the laundry facilities and many other campgrounds and RV parks making it the most favorable experience of this RV park. I would come here before going to a laundromat. There's a clubhouse that is supposed to be fairly nice. I haven't had a chance to inspect or use it. (UPDATE) The clubhouse is nicely done with newly refinished hardwood floors and a decent area for watching TV or playing pool. The area small, probably limited to one or two families at a time. The internet in this lower clubhouse has a decent download speed 80 megabytes per second and a slower 10 MB upload speed. This is certainly a place I would stay again as an intermediary to my final destination, but is certainly not something I'd bring my kids to as a true camping experience or final destination.

ETA: there are plenty of open spots here, including overflow we were willing to dry camp in and were told no to. My son was hospitalized last night for asthma issues and they admitted him at Seattle children’s hospital. When my husband went to ask to be extended so we could care for my son they asked him a bunch of questions and then told him he was lying about our son being in the hospital and denied us extending. So we have to move our camper on top of everything else. To say I’m furious with Tall Cheif is an understatement. We thankfully called Thunderbird and they were super accommodating and fitting us in last minute when Tall Chief not only was rude to us and wouldn’t let us stay, but told my husband that he was lying about my son being sick. Last night they gave him IV mag to get his asthma under control (because he was so bad off) and his BP dropped as low as 72/29. When he was being questioned by the Tall Cheif staff they told him there’s no way his blood pressure was that low. He also told them (again due to unnecessary questioning) how low his oxygen levels were and they told him 92 isn’t that low. They shouldn’t have been trying to get medical information or judge whether or not a child is actually in the hospital due to numbers. They wouldn’t even let him eat or drink all day because he was having such a hard time breathing they were scared he was going to aspirate. Thankfully he’s doing much better and being discharged later today. But we have to stay in the area for follow up appointments. I will also be calling the thousand trails office to report this incidence. I’m beyond furious and action needs to be taken.

There wasnt any indicationon the website the pool and hot tub werent availableto use, and has been down for the whole summer (last 3 months) but it was full of water just no one allowed in it when we stayed which was the main reason we booked here. The Spa/Tub couldn't be accessed or used even tho it was fine, the corn hole had no bean bags to play with, the horse shoes had no horse shoes to swing, the mini golf was in, disarray covered in moss and carpet all chewed up+bricks pushed everywhere, and the golf clubs bent and broken, there wasn't any basket balls to play with, the pool table had one bent pool stick to play with, no tips on the sticks, no chalk, and the club house window was broken, the vending machines that didn't work( more than half either ate the money or flat out didn't work) We eventually figured out how to work the Sauna, so we were able to do that the last 10 minutes before we left to go back home. no one was there to help or even instruct how to use it. it was so frustrating.... Nothing was there worked and nothing looked like the pictures online. Nothing was kept up, there was a bunch of crazy active ants in the club house area near the vending machines. The Group firepit was overgrown (even tho there was a burn ban going, it looked terrible) nothing was kept up or could be used during our stay for the day, night and morning. We just ended up leaving to go home after one night. The staff wasn't friendly or helpful at all And smelled like Weed. Heavily. She showed up to check us in At the gate 30 minutes after we got there. We had to wait in a long line to be checked in because no one else was there, not because it was busy, just because no one was in the front office. We couldn't ever get ahold of an actual person to speak with. It was all automated. Our family literally had so many plans to play there, and we couldn't do a single thing but walk around and see people's RVs and tents. The other campers were the friendliest part about the trip, they said hello back with a smile. The other RV-ers weren't very happy about the state of the campgrounds either. I just wanted to let yall know, this is how its presented and ran. Unfortunately it Ruined our stay. The pool sure did look nice to swim in tho. Super bummer. Anyway. Thank you for your time. Usually I don't like to complain (I know it doesn't sound like it from this message ( but that's just how BAD it was) I hope others have a different experience or they change their ways and present a better stay for other families and people. One star because they did allow us and our pups to stay, and it was...
