Stonewood Inn and Suites in Carrollton is, without a doubt, the last place you want to stay. I’m attaching photos to this review so you can see for yourself. This hotel is in shockingly poor condition, and I truly regret booking a room here. To start, the room number signs are literally taped to the walls—yes, taped. One photo shows a leak in the ceiling with exposed wiring and a bucket collecting water—an obvious safety hazard. The stairwell and things, such as the trash can in the room were filthy, adding to the overall sense of neglect and uncleanliness throughout the property. The coffee in the lobby was cold, and the powdered creamer clumped up into something that looked (and tasted) awful. The towels provided were thin, rough, and barely usable—clearly old and completely worn out. I booked through Expedia, but the front desk had no record of my reservation. Thankfully, I had a copy of my booking confirmation, or things could have been worse. The in-room hair dryer didn't work, though they did provide a replacement when I asked. The refrigerator was wet inside and didn’t keep anything cold—not even bottled water. Worst of all, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, like sleeping on a plywood box with springs. This place is a disaster. I wouldn’t give it even one star if I had the option. I hope this review spares someone else from the same awful experience.

this was a nightmare stay, front desk took more than 30 minutes to check in, the gentleman asked me for ID, plus second ID, Proof of address, spelling the licenses number by number to in put into the system. finally he gave me the keys, no elevator, smell very bad, the man was smoking all the time, unprofessional , wen we open the door room temperature was 95 degrees, the AC was very poor and my children were sweating and crying, room It took 4 hours to cool down, we only slept 3 hours, and check, same gentleman was smoking again and he took our key after he finish Dirty towels and scratched floor, damaged bathroom

I've been staying here on and off for the past several weeks due to work and this place is in a great location if you're working in the Smithfield area. I decided to try the Whirlpool room this week and had a big screen TV that I didn't expect. The rooms are a little worn, but they've began to update the bedding and draperies. Management has stated they'll be replacing the roof, flooring, and parking lot. The place will have a fresh feel and look to it. Staff is very friendly. Will stay here during my future visits!

I've been staying here on and off for the past several weeks due to work and this place is in a great location if you're working in the Smithfield area. I decided to try the Whirlpool room this week and had a big screen TV that I didn't expect. The rooms are a little worn, but they've began to update the bedding and draperies. Management has stated they'll be replacing the roof, flooring, and parking lot. The place will have a fresh feel and look to it. Staff is very friendly. Will stay here during my future visits!

WARNING!! Be careful this place will stab you in the back for being a good samaritan. My husband and I are very disappointed with this place. I would rate it 0 stars if it were an option! We having been invested in this place for two years. The management lives at the hotel and I once thought we had somewhat developed a friendly relationship with the staff. My step son lives close and this is the only hotel in his area. we live five hours away in NC. My husband has been traveling to see his son every other weekend for two years. I have attended when I don’t work, but for the most part we were regular customers. Anyone who has met my husband knows he never meets a stranger. My husband is the type of guy who makes his day by making everyone around him smile. He will go out of his way if someone is by their self and looks down or upset. We both are great with the public, but sometimes I get onto my husband for going out of his way and being too nice and this place stab him in the back for doing exactly that. Our last stay there was canceled and we were listed as do not rent to because my husband noticed a crack in the toilet. He showed it to the maintenance guy and I believe even spoke with one of the maids. They all seemed understanding then, but we were an hour away at 1am when we noticed our room had been canceled and when we called to ask why they said we got blamed for the broken toilet so we are on the do not rent list. We had no where to stay so late at night. What’s even more depressing is a previous time we stayed there we found the managers wallet because she had stayed in the same room previously and turned it in up front the exact way she left it. You would figure after two years of staying every other weekend and being friendly with the staff that they would know what kind of people we are. We’re quiet just spending time with our kids. We even clean up after ourselves. We always put all of our trash together all of our dirty towels together and leave the room easy and decent for the maids to do their part. I am livid and beyond shocked that they put the blame on us!!! It’s not the best place to stay but it seems to have a safe environment and worked for us financially with how often we had to travel. Now we have trouble finding a place to stay that we can afford just for trying to help them out! Also for anyone who has never stayed before they also stopped serving the cheap continental breakfast they had. So, don’t look forward to free breakfast since the websites still...

Made a reservation to stay here, but when we arrived, there was no one to check us into our room. We arrived to find another man waiting to check in and a sign behind the counter that said, "Be right back." He pointed at it and said, " I believed this sign 20 minutes ago." We waited with the gentleman for another 45 minutes. During this time, I tried to call the front desk and the corporate line. No one picked up the front office phone, but I could hear it ringing. The corporate line left me on hold for an hour before I assumed they'd forgotten about me and hung up. While we were waiting in the lobby and I was on hold, a lady poked her head in and said, "Ain't nobody coming in anytime soon. The night person never showed up." And then she left. We had no idea if she was another guest or an employee. This all happened around 5pm. We decided to go to my company holiday party (the reason we were in the area) and come back later. We got back around 10pm, only to find an empty lobby and the same "Be right back" sign, which we no longer believed. We left and checked into a different hotel down the street. We stopped by on our way home the next morning and there were finally two ladies behind the desk. One was the same lady who had poked her head in the night before. We explained our experience and expected an apology and a refund. Instead, we got attitude and defensiveness from the employees. The lady we recognized said, "I told you no one was coming until 11." ( Which is not what she said.) They asked if we tried to modify our reservation online. I said, "No. We tried to check in, in person, but there was no one here. We didn't want to modify our reservation. We just wanted to check into the room we paid for, but we couldn't, because no one was here." They said they couldn't give me a refund, and I'd have to call the manager. They said she'd be in at 3. I called back at 3 and was told that the manager wasn't there, because she was having car trouble and they weren't sure when she'd be coming in. I gave up on them and called the corporate phone number again. They transferred me around, and I had to tell my story a couple of times, but I got my refund. It was waaaaay harder than it should've been, though. Talk about a mismanaged business. You don't expect a lot from an economy hotel, but you DO expect to be able to get into your reserved room. Make your reservation anywhere but here if you want a bed...

I would not suggest ever staying at this hotel. Me and my mom and siblings had stayed there one night and we left the room in just about the same exact shape as it was in when we got there. The shower half worked the mattress were dirty , there were straws and all kinds of dirt found on the couch bed and none of the necessities that are supposed to be in the rooms were in there. We Live about two hours away and we had been staying there because we are at the beach and earlier today we made a reservation for the same hotel and they confirmed it. later on we get to the hotel And The employees and the manager were extremely rude to my mother and told her she did not have a reservation after she showed them the code and then proceeded to change the story and say that we trashed the room. leaving my mom and her kids with nowhere to say after she told them that she did not have the money if they did not refund it to afford another hotel room and they said the refund could take up to 6 to 7 days. about 20 minutes later I called the hotel asking to speak to the manager about their policy because they failed to inform us that we were not allowed to stay there after we made our reservations and were physically there. The lady that answered the phone claims that she couldn’t do anything because the manager wasn’t there but when my mom went into speak to him she was right there and nobody made any effort to try to help the situation that they had caused. after talking to the lady working there for around five minutes about their hotel policy and how that is against it she proceeded to tell me she could not do anything without the manager and when I asked if she could call him and have him give us a call so we could get our refund and pay for another hotel she proceeded to raise her voice and hang up on me. this hotel has horrible service speaking that they can’t do anything without a manager present and their manager has left the building. I am not the first person to say that this hotel has blamed their faults on their guests staying there multiple times as you can read in the other reviews and the staff could do absolutely nothing to help us even though there company failed to inform us we were not allowed to stay there after they approved the reservation. The employees had no remorse and I would not recommended this...
