We barely made it to the campground due to the vehicles parked everywhere clogging the road. We were an hour early which is usually just fine. The host was stuttering and told us that we were early and had to leave and come back later. As is the norm we said that we would park in the overflow area and wait. He refused and told us to leave. We could see our site, 07, from the check in station. There were four pickups and a car parked and four large dogs staked out on the grass in the site but no camping equipment of any kind. I let him know that I was very unhappy. We parked a short way's down the road and watched. A young lady with a blocked number called and said that the campers had just left but we knew better because they had not passed us. We went back and the host said that they had just pulled out which was not true. When we got to the site there was dog poop and trash everywhere. A young girl, about 6 or 7 told my wife that we were staying in their parking and dog place and it stunk. That park was an actual madhouse. I sincerely hope that we were just unlucky and it's not like that...
Read moreWe booked site 12 for Labor Day weekend. We paid extra to be beside the lake. We could see the lake at a distance but could not access it due to the poison ivy and steep descent. Our spot was so small we could barely get our tent and screen gazebo in the slot. The picnic table would not fit inside our gazebo due to the huge size. We had to move it out of the pad. Sites were very close together. Quiet time was designated to begin at ten o’clock. Our neighbors came in the second night with three tents on their spot and four cars, one which blocked us in. We had to ask them to move. That night they were so loud we finally had to go ask them to quiet down after midnight. No host ever came through to witness the chaos next door. We are leaving a day early to avoid another night of kids screaming and adults talking and laughing so loud if felt like they were in our tent with us. No thank you, we...
Read moreMy friend and I were on a road trip in June 2016 when we stayed at this campsite for one night. After checking out a few other sites in the Atlanta area, we came across this one as our last resort and we were so glad we did. It's kind of a strange setup because there are actually 8 campgrounds run by the same group. I think it might be state run. Anyway, when we arrived, the gentleman at the gate was very kind and helpful and even gave us a recommendation on a Mexican restaurant that we are still raving about months later. The campsite itself was beautiful. We were there midweek, so we had the pick of the litter. Our tent site was right on the water. The whole campground was very clean and the bathrooms were decent. There was a small beach too, but we didn't have time to use it. If I find myself in this area again, I will certainly...
