The room was clean, bed was okay, pillows too small for a king size bed. Light flooding under the door at night made me feel like I was in a hospital room. But the WORST thing was the giant hexagon shaped gaping hole in the wall that separates the bathroom and the general living/sleeping space, which was clearly done on purpose...in ALL the rooms! The hole in the wall is in the shower/tub, so there's an extra shower curtain to protect the floor on the other side. Their "commercial" photos make it look like a mirror. It's definitely not a mirror! How is anyone in the bathroom to get any privacy while IN the bathroom with a giant hole in the wall? ALSO, Just WHY?

Close to the airport is why I picked this place. Was there for a week had to ask to get my room cleaned. Guess you had to continue to ask if you wanted anything from staff. Had to ask for towels twice and toilet paper once. They were always nice but it made me wonder how much they saved by not doing maid service and waiting to see what the customer might finally ask for. The shower was strange with a window in the wall facing the beds with shower curtains on both sides of tub. Very dissatisfied with this location!

The room was nice enough, although the octagon opening from the bathroom shower into the room was strange. There was a shower curtain, but still, not much privacy when using the toilet. The older man at the front desk didn't speak enough English to be able to communicate. Most concerning was the strange SUV parked at the back of the motel every night and, most of the day, engine running, people inside doing God knows what. There are no security cameras in sight out back.

We arrived at this hotel later in the evening on Friday, 4/7/23. The reviews that we read said that the second floor had been renovated so we were glad that we were given a room on the second floor. However, what we witnessed was not a renovation. We were traveling with our pets, so the first thing we did was put on our new litter box, add litter, and slide it under the sink in the bathroom. Plenty of room. A good 6-8 inches of headspace below the edge of the sink. I washed my hands and the coffee mug. I could hear water coming out underneath the sink. The water from the sink was going straight through the plumbing into our new disposable cat litter box and filling it - literally. As my husband went to go and get more supplies for the cats, I went to speak to the staff at the desk. He gave his name as Ajmain (sp?). He has a sign at his desk that says be back in five minutes. It’s there most of the time. So I waited. When he arrived at the desk told him the problem and he was disgruntled over the issue. He got keys and went in front of me up to our room to see what was happening. he wiggled around the plumbing and reattached a hose and told me everything was fine. He told me that we must have bumped it. We did not bump it and it should not have come off anyway even if we had.|I discussed the situation we were in and having to go out and purchase new supplies as what we brought was ruined. He was unconcerned and did not offer to compensate us in any way. He said to me, “Your fault, our fault, doesn’t matter,“ and then he left the room.|The remaining issues I will list below, and I have included photos as well.|-Filthy lampshades.|-What appeared to be dried pet urine or liquid of some sort next to the bed.|-The refrigerator was broken. Our food was warm in the morning and the freezer leaked water all over the floor as it did not work.|-The shelf over the coat rack was filthy with garbage left on top.|-When we went to use the bathroom door, we realized it did not lock as it was kicked out. There was no way to securely close the door. again, see photos.|-there were three flat pillows on the king bed when we arrived. One had a small stain on it. My husband asked for an extra pillow and was told there were none. He took him into a laundry room to look and see if there was a pillow. He found a single pillow in the room, put a pillow case on it, and gave it to me. When I got to the room, I saw that it was extremely stained and we could not use it. See photo.|-The Kleenex container was empty in the bathroom|-There was no shampoo or any other amenities in the room.|-This hotel does not do a breakfast. We knew that. They did offer free coffee from 6 AM to 9 AM. It was as pictured below. A room coffee maker that was empty the entire time my husband checked.|-Bathroom fan was out of order. See video.|-Air conditioner was filthy.||There was a sign on the wall in the entrance. That stated what you could expect for quality at this hotel. It did not even meet one of the expectations. The ownership of this hotel was not posted anywhere for us to find. We later found it on the Internet as The Blackstone Group. |We paid $75 for one night. We expect to be compensated for this evening. We do not...

I gave this place a second chance after a former bad experience and I am really glad I have! The New management and New owners have gone above and beyond my and my finances expectations. The room we keep clean since we are extended stay and they are pet friendly here with free Wi-Fi and a landline phone is included. Our two kittens like this place and the staff love them and have played with them. We are working to make them certified by state of Illinois service animals. My doctor approved them for my anxiety disorder so I showed the staff the Dr letter and they took us in no problem. No other place in Marion would let us stay with the kittens. There is no free breakfast but there is free coffee and this place is not far from breakfast places like Krispy Keene or Bob Evans in town. This place is in between Herrin and Marion. There is public bus from Rides Mass Transit but is on a limited schedule due to being in between Herrin and Marion but if you plan ahead you can get a bus earlier in the day. Last bus is at 4pm. The bathroom is nice and clean and extra toilet paper is free unlike other places and we ask every free days for fresh towels and linens as needed. There is an outside pool but its closed for the season. We do like this place better than the last place which is now closed Americas Best Inn motel because here is much quieter and better security. You won't find drug users or dealers out here. We run a home ecommerce business and we are disabled and I am a student so the quiet place here keeps us quiet. I would recommend for business people and families. There is a rooms for smokers and non smokers too. Also easy access to outside parking lot for those who can't walk stairs. Thanks to the staff for their hard work! I just wanted to add that Fawn and her husband and daughter were great. They went outta the way to help us. The last week we were there they were all fired and everything went downhill. We were blamed for roaches in the room and charged by the owner $300 which isn't fair when we didn't ask for the exterminator to come there. We lost a lot of possessions from being evicted and it was short notice and cruel. My two cats were uncomfortable and so was I with sitting outside for five hours and got sunburned due to a friend we were waiting on not show up. So being stranded was terrible. We found out from other people this place has a history of roaches and so to blame us for that is beyond wrong. Another thing is I was creeped out there especially at night. The place could be haunted. Be careful if you go there. Keep your room immaculate because the owner is very strict and a foreigner. This places owes us $355 from two bad experiences. But I'm sure we will...

Me and my brother took a trip down to visit family and ended up staying here for about 10 days. We booked the room on Expedia and found out upon checking in that they can offer it’s much cheaper than Expedia if you call the hotel directly and inquire about rooms, so be sure to give them a call!

The sign outside said that the hotel is under new ownership and they’re doing a great job. For a 10 day stay, an impression can be left on you, and even though me and my brother mainly used it as just a place to sleep and keep our stuff, we still felt welcomed. Any time I left in the mornings, I’d see the lady in the hallway (the same one who gave me the tip about calling the hotel to save money) and she would be sure to ask if we needed any room service, new towels, or anything for the day. I know room service is a normal part of hotel service, but the fact that she would greet me and ask me personally instead of just looking whether or not I put a “do not disturb” sign up meant a lot.

There are a couple things such as the shower that needed some getting used to that seemed a little hard to work, but you can’t expect these things to change right away with new ownership and it still wasn’t bad to a point where it inhibited my experience. The room is still very clean for how affordable it is.

I don’t usually write reviews, but the lady was so nice during our stay and she recommended leaving a review online, and I figured I’d do my part to help them out through the change of...
