Tom and I were looking for a place that "fit" us for our wedding ceremony. We happened upon an article about Butterfly Hollow and followed the links to the website and were truly mesmerized by the beauty and tranquility we saw. We were not disappointed. In fact, the moment we drove through the gate at the end of the lane we knew we were exactly where we needed to be. David and Sharon are two of the most sincere and gracious people we have ever met and the Hollow is truly a magical place. Our wedding day began with a "run" on the walking trails on the beautiful hills surrounding the Hollow. We soon discovered that it was called a “walking trail” for a reason. After being treated to a wonderful breakfast with Dave and Sharon (which included the best grits I have ever had and I am not a grits fan), we spent the rest of the day relaxing on the porch talking about our lives, our dreams and our future as husband and wife, all while watching the hummingbirds dart in and out of the nearby feeders and shrubbery. We also experienced a typical late afternoon thunderstorm just before our ceremony. A bit of worry entered the picture but the rain stopped just in time for our ceremony at the gazebo. The coolness from the rain and the ambience of the Hollow coupled with David’s beautiful words added to the specialness of our wedding. Best of all the sun popped out at the very moment we concluded to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. In addition to our wedding ceremony, David and Sharon prepared the most wonderful candlelight dinner on the screened porch with manmade candlelight as well as nature’s candlelight – fireflies lighting up the surrounding hillside. Tom and I mused that Sharon and David are two extremely talented people – photographers, chefs, musicians, do-it-yourselfers, wedding planners and officiants, innkeepers and gardeners. To top it off, they also became our friends over the course of the time we spent at the Hollow. They left an indelible mark on our hearts and lives. We didn’t want to leave and cannot wait to return to their little slice of heaven on earth.

Read moreI can't recommend this place enough for a small wedding. My husband and I got married here, with 30 people total (we rented the whole place), in April 2019 (Tripadvisor won't let me go back that far, which makes sense -- I just didn't think to check here). The grounds are beautiful. The host, Dave, is amazing. He handled everything, patiently and thoroughly explained all details and bills (I had zero unexpected costs). The day of our wedding, he was always quietly nearby if we needed anything and inconspicuously ushered the event into each next phase. And he's just a genuinely nice person.||||The grounds are beautiful; the photos don't do it justice. If you're an outdoorsy couple, even remotely, you'll love it. That's why we chose it. Quiet, green, secluded. And plenty of space to play for kids ... my young nieces and nephews loved it (and ran around so much in the grass that they all went straight to sleep!). ||||The cost is beyond reasonable. We were living in Chicago at the time and had to quickly move up our wedding date to accommodate special family members, which made an outdoor wedding impossible in Chicago (unless we wanted to get married in sub-zero temperatures). We randomly found Butterfly Hollow because we have family in Nashville. Dave miraculously had a Saturday available, and we got married about two months later. ||||Again, highly recommend. Dave handles everything ... cake, flowers, bouquet, food, venue, breakfast in the morning if...
Read moreMy fiancé and I came to butterfly hollow to celebrate my birthday and iron out some of the details of our wedding. We had originally found the bed & breakfast online while looking for venues. We knew we were in for something great by how easy Dave and Beth Ann made the entire process of booking and working around our schedules. We arrived late on a Saturday night and Dave was there with two glasses of ice tea and a very warm greeting.
Things only got better from here. Dave planned breakfast around our schedule and we woke up to the smell of fresh coffee, bacon and Caramelized french toast. Easily one of the best breakfasts I have had! All through out the meal Dave played a well balance of friendly, informative, conversation about the history of the property and impeccable service; my coffee cup never ran dry!
This property has everything you need to relax and unwind from the daily grind. Great hiking trails, more hammocks than I could count, all scattered in places designed to enhance your enjoyment of the property and mother nature. There is also a hot tub that really puts the icing on the cake.
Aside from all of this; Dave's decades of experience in the hotel business has made him not only a great host with a servant heart but an organized and proactive business man that makes any and all correspondence efficient and stress free.
Thank you Dave and Beth Ann for an unforgettable weekend. I cant wait for...
