We stayed here for our honeymoon but wish we hadn't. Although our room was clean and just fine. I just wish we would have spent our money elsewhere. We left a day early because of the unwelcoming atmosphere. The bare minimum was being done at this place in so many ways. Things we did not like: -Ferral cat urine smell when you come up the front porch -No breakfast menu so you can plan ahead. That way if they are serving something you don't like, it won't be a surprise Coffee available earlier than 8am would be a simple convenience. When we are on vacation we don't want to wait around til 8 for a cup of coffee and breakfast at 9. Toilet seat in room was broke the three course breakfast we paid for consists of the cheapest possible way to call it a three course breakfast and get away with it. 1st course was a half of grilled grapefruit. They said with brown sugar but we could not detect any. The 2nd course was very liquidy, sugary yogurt in a double shot glass with three blueberries per person and a tablespoon of cheap tasting granola. The 3rd course was a thin pancake with bitter apples and one small sausage patty. When I explained to them I don't like apples and asked for an addiotional patty... Our server did not apologize or offer to rectify the situation. With zero eye contact she told us only one patty per person was cooked. She was being serious. For what you pay you were given the cheapest breakfast they can find to make. - We tried to ask a few questions about the house but the hostess was very rude and it was obvious we were putting her out Due to the poor service, we decided to leave and go elsewhere. When we tried to talk to the employee, she pretty much ignored us standing there to wait on a new customer. We totally I understand that but they could have said something like "Just one minute"... Something.
We would rather give our hard earned money to people who really want it and don't want to just do the bare minimum to get our money.
They did email us back to voice their apology and to ask why we didn't talk to them. We explained in a reply email to them. We never heard...
Read moreWe had a mixed experience at Martha’s Vineyard. We were greated warmly when we arrived, Patty explained how breakfast would be brought to our room and how the dining area was reserved for guests in the house (ours was in a separate home behind the main house). She helped arrange a lovely sailing trip with Limerick sailing. Breakfast the first day was very good and because it was nice outside, we could eat at the table outside comfortably. The negatives- the breakfast the second day was not good. The fruit bake was mushy and inedible and the sausage was pink and undercooked. It was raining, and eating on our laps in the room was uncomfortable. I had ordered a picnic lunch for $50 and the chips were expired by 3 months and terribly stale (I tasted them before I noticed the date). The chicken salad wrap was odd- tasted like tuna but that may just be our taste. The light over our bathroom mirror was out the whole time and not replaced. I figured housekeeping would just notice and take care of it for second day. And, they give tiny shampoo bottle (no conditioner) and did not replace it for the second day. These are single use size. We were asked not to use the washcloths to remove my make up, and only provided a small thin make up remover wipe that irritated my skin. If we should not use the white wash cloths, I would expect a black make up wash cloth so I can use my normal cleanser and skin care routine. If you like baths, this would be great: but, stepping into the tub was kind of scary. The only grab bar is positioned over the faucet and behind the shower curtain which can not be moved away from it. I do not have balance issues, but I nearly slipped getting in on the first day. I did send an email to the owners before leaving this review, but she blamed me for not asking for a new light bulb and replenished shampoo (we didn’t notice they hadn’t replenished the shampoo until we were getting ready.) She did not offer any reimbursement for the...
Read moreMy husband and I went here for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We stayed in the main house in the Provincetown room. I really did enjoy the stay here. The house was nice, old fashioned and in a great location. We were literally minutes away from downtown South Haven and the beach which I loved. Our room and TV were quite small. We had a queen size bed and I felt pretty cramped after our suitcases were in there. They have DVDs you can take to your room but they are all older movies. Breakfast is not delivered to your room if you stay in the main house so you have to go downstairs at 9 am if you want breakfast. You will most likely be sharing a table with another couple as well. The breakfasts were nice, nothing amazing though. They were different things we weren't used to which was a nice change. The first course was always a small portion of fruit. They talked about the maple syrup, honey and grape juice made on sight, but none of those things were served with our meals. Another guest actually asked for the grape juice and was told there wasn't any. There was an odd smell to the porch and entryway when you walked in. The walls were thin, we could hear all the other guests talking or moving about. If someone else was having a whirlpool bath you could hardly hear yourself think. The rooms were not kept very cool, I get hot easy and like my sleeping area to be quite cool, so this would be a personal preference thing. Unfortunately our couple massage was canceled due to the masseuse being ill, which is okay since we were refunded for that. Just know, that it's a possibility. We also had wine with our package and it wasn't chilled or served on ice which was a bummer. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend getaway and since this was one of the cheaper BNB's I can't...
