I called a week before arrival to upgrade our room to a family suite. I spoke with Bre and she told me that we could however we couldn't have the room on Saturday night. We were ok with that. Upon arriving at the hotel Bre was there to check us in and told us that we now had the family suite for our whole stay. It was wonderful that she was able to accommodate us on short notice. The room was clean and inviting. The ac/heat was a bit tricky to work but we found what worked best for us. The door between the bedroom and the sitting room was a wonderful touch that we weren't aware of. Housekeeping did not clean our room on the first night so I asked at the desk if she could clean it for us day 2. Kendra did a good job cleaning but we found it a little unusual that they didn't make the beds. We asked at the desk about it and they said they were fully booked and very short handed that they may have just gotten called away and forgot to go back. It was fine and didn't affect our stay. The breakfast are was nice and clean with some good options to choose from. Day 2 breakfast was a little light on food. I asked about some silverware and Katrina was very apologetic and told us that the kitchen person didn't show up and all the available staff was jumping in to help out. Bre was able to find the silverware and Katrina was getting the food out as fast as possible. Kudos to them for helping out and keeping things running as smooth as possible. Day 3 breakfast was going much better Sally brought out bacon soft and crunchy and said she like to make it that way incase people liked it made differently. The only downfall to our stay was that the pool heater was broken and the water was like doing a polar plunge. We love staying here and I am looking for my next stay in January. I hope to see the same smiling faces upon my arrival then. Your hard work and dedication to your job is appreciated. Thank you for making us...
Read moreWhen I saw this hotel from the road, I was already concerned. To get there, you needed to drive back some side road that looked like it was taking you to a trucking facility. When I entered the hotel, the lobby looked nice, but the staff was not friendly. I stood there and was not welcomed and I seemed to be an inconvenience to the woman behind the desk, even though she did not appear to be doing anything. She called the cleaning staff via walkie and asked if a certain room was ready: my room. It was. I entered my room and was not impressed by anything. There was a huge empty space which must have been a space for a chair that may have existed at one point. The bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned for weeks, and the pillows were closer to the size of marshmallows than actual pillows. The room had peeling paint and did not have a thermostat. I felt like I should treat the carpet like lava and not allow anything to touch it. Although there were no bed bugs and I survived the night, I would not recommend this hotel, which is a shame, because there are not many hotels in the area. The same night that I was there, several car loads of police officers entered. I wasn't sure at the time if there was a raid or if they were staying. It could have gone either way, but they actually were just staying. This was one of the very few positive things about the stay. When I didn't feel safe in this decrepit place, I knew that the police could have heard me through the paper-thin walls, in case...
Read moreI never leave reviews but we just got home from the most incredible thing that has ever been told to me at a hotel. Did you know there is a 50 mile radius policy for this Frackville hotel? That if your home address is within that radius you cannot stay there due to past "locals" activities. Disgusting! But the BEST is arriving there with your family to be told that YES you did make the reservation, and YES you paid in full through your third party hotel app, but NO they can't give you a room! To top it off the hotel cannot refund you if you used a third party hotel app... You have to contact their customer service which has no mention from Country Inn & Suites of that 50 mile riffraff rule. The best is that we live 48.6 miles away via GPS and still were denied. I will never ever stay at this or any Country Inn & Suites again. Ruined the night for our daughter and our friends and their daughter coming to stay after a day at Knoebels. We wanted to relax and for the kids to swim and have a fun movie night together before back to school. Ruined it all. Horrible feeling to get there with your bags and kids all excited just to be turned away and then to have to listen to the crying for an hour to get home. We are clearly not the clientele they are hoping to keep away within that radius rule but here we are with sad, disappointed kids. Beware of where you are staying, and know what kind of people have been there before you which caused this...
