Different. Alot going on there but very interesting! You could walk into a room multiple times & each time, see something you didn't see the 1st time. Antiques & interesting photos & items everywhere! A good place for a large group & or to have party weekend. There is an area where you could have a small wedding performed there. Stage & seats. You're in the woods, not going to bother neighbors. The owner is really laid back, down to earth. Area for a group to have a bomb fire & dock to fish from (which our group enjoyed both). The horror movie 'Swamp thing' was actually filmed there. Wasn't thrilled about the bathroom areas. No shower curtains or doors. No privacy. It is very open. Both bathrooms were located in bedrooms. Small one upstairs. It's not the cleanest. Make sure windows & doors are kept shut due to insects & bugs. The best sleeping area is the bed upstairs or for kids the bunks in the one living room area is good. No AC.

I had the pleasure of visiting Walker World with my urban sketchers group last week. It is a magical and intriguing place! The owner, Alan Walker was a kind and gracious host!! He took the time to tell us stories about his creation and some of Walker World's history! He imagined and built everything on the property. I highly recommend coming to explore and experience it for yourself - there is something for everyone! We really enjoyed it and there was so much material for sketching!

One of my favorite places on this Earth. My first time at Walker World was in 2016, and have been back many times since then. I love seeing all of the art and creative buildings on the property, plus sitting by the Cape Fear is great. (Try out the rope swing!) Just recently went to a women’s retreat here and it was everything I wanted and more. (Thank you Katie) And thank you Allen!!!! ā¤ļøšŸ¤˜šŸ»

This place is an overpriced airbnb. There are no washcloths, and no towels, so be sure to bring your own. You would think a hosted accommodation had basic things such as this. There are big roaches that come out at night in the house. And if you have allergies, do not come here. Nothing is dusted. Many beds are unwashed and dusty but not all. Wash all plates and utensils because they are not clean. Used towels and hand towels were in bathroom. Used hand towels in kitchen. Not relaxing. Plates either collected dust, which is normal, or just not clean with some food stuck still. Just an extremely overpriced place to pay to be in nature. The Google maps directions are wrong, and the road to the location is hidden. The street sign in low to the ground versus high up staked like a street sign should be. It is a beautiful location in nature and plenty of art around. The cleaning service hired definitely cuts corners and the rooms are abandoned with cobwebs it seems throughout the year. There really are no bathroom doors. All curtains. There's two rooms. But about 7 sleepable places with lots and lots of beds. Some people have no issues with this. Expect a campground with art collected throughout the years. One entry, going back out the ground scraps the bottom of a car. While we were inside playing board games, some woman who isn't the owner came inside our kitchen inquiring how long we're staying. She stepped INSIDE barefooted. Then she went around the back and came INSIDE again and BEGGING to look around with 3 other people while we are staying and our belongings in the room. That's like renting a room, someone coming in the door. Closing the door while they are inside and asking you how long you are staying and can they look around. We said no MULTIPLE times and they still would not get lost. They blocked one of our cars in. AWFUL experience. Bad mornings for people with dust allergies. You definitely have to have a taste for this. But it is neglected. 100% Old memories collecting dust, rust, mold, and roaches. I hope the cleaning fee charged goes to some good cleaning for this place. It's a cash cow getting milked. Would you pay for a place to stay that's unclean when you have a home with a clean bed? No locks? Strangers walk inside? That's up to personal...

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I don't even know where to begin on how highly I recommend WalkerWorld; we had our wedding their in May 2016. The house itself is the coolest, most unique, beautifully hand-crafted piece of art I have ever seen. The feeling is so cozy and welcoming. The views are absolutely stunning: the ample windows look into thick Carolina forest/vegetation over the beautiful Cape Fear River. There is more than enough room and beds for a giant family, get together, event, wedding, etc: each creatively designed and placed. The property surrounding the main house is nothing short of stunning; you could spend hours just exploring around or rope-swinging into the river. As for the owner, Allen, and his team are the coolest people you're going to come across! So helpful and down to make your experience the best ever! Allen's a truly unique character that you'll always remember for his warm spirit and great personality. He just wants you to have a blast; however you prefer to do so, he'll help make it happen! No crazy formal rules and regulations like most places; just common sense stuff. Long story short, this house, property and ownership/management are way too good to be true and you'll really regret not choosing Walker World for your next stay! Thank you for everything Allen, Perdy...

I have visited this MAGICAL and UNIQUE destination a total of 4 times and every time I am completely blown away. I mean it when I say Walker World is good for your soul. The art that covers every room and outside area is incredible and there’s always something new to discover whether you have been in a room once or ten times already. It’s mind blowing. The time and effort that has gone into creating such a creative and wondrous place is impressive. There’s always plenty of accommodations with fresh linens and towels from the laundry room and great working AC. There’s four bathrooms in the main house and only one is a little less private than than the others. But if you need privacy you can use any of those three…. Just shut the door to the bedroom that they are in 😁. Yes this beautiful dwelling has been lived in. Yes it’s been around for a while. Does it feel like you’re camping? Absolutely not. It’s completely comfortable. If you wanna live, really live, visiting places like this with actual CHARACTER...
