I haven't been to similar facilities in the area, so don't have anything similar to compare to, but I was generally pleased with our stay here. I was with a group of students for a weekend retreat. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and worked for our needs. 4 small couches, plenty of folding chairs in the large shared living space. Restrooms, the common area and kitchen were generally clean - yes, some bugs and dirt, but not unexpected for what it is. The main things that would be appreciated are: screens on the windows so we could have gotten some cross ventilation (we had beautiful weather with mild temps, but it did get stuffy inside - but a ton of crane flies outside we didn't want getting in with wide open doors/windows); some basic supplies like paper towels and cleaning supplies (only 2 brooms, a push broom and one small towel were in the closet), and; some sort of water supply away from the cabins is needed. The camp store was not open during our stay, which we had assumed it would be, so purchasing any snacks/drinks wasn't possible. The staff that assisted us with team building and activities were good and the group enjoyed that time. Breakfast/lunch/dinner was good enough for our group, though for the price, the Sunday breakfast was a bit paltry (some fruit, prepackaged pastries and yogurt). Chicken strips one day and mac & cheese another day were a hit. All of the staff we interacted with were polite and helpful. The location isn't too far outside of town, but it felt like the middle of nowhere. Lots of space, even when one of the days the property was quite busy. Overall, I'd recommend Mt. Lebanon for any team building retreat that your group may be...
Read moreGood service and sermons by the preacher, but the staff needs to walk the walk themselves. When I was there I overheard multiple camp staffers cuss like sailors. I was worried about my kids safety on the zipline and ropes course because it seemed like the young staffers were pre-occupied flirting with each other rather than paying attention to the kids. Camp should not be a place you go to hook up.
It is a beauftiful camp, but there needs to be more adult supervision over the young staffers. They should be spreading God's word and love with their actions, instead of doing...
Read moreOk sooo last year I went to camp there and had fun but the people there where flirting with each other and we had BAD pest problems. We had scorpions every night there and me and my friends bed broke and I almost cried because I almost got hit with the whole bottom of the top bunk of the bed. The walks just to the cafeteria was awful it took us ten minutes from our cabin just to get there. Food was ok could have been better it was dry but I mean at least I got food for free so yeah. Really...
