Sun Aura is a unique camping destination! It's a clothing-optional (nudity encouraged), lifestyle-friendly camping, RV, and cabin resort.
Sun Aura is HUGE! Apparently, it's something like 300 acres. You can hike or take a golf cart back into the dunes to explore nature in all its forms. (Nudge, nudge, wink, wink!) The property has been a nudist resort since the 1930s and they have the largest outdoor pool in the region. The Roundhouse is where nightly entertainment happens and it's where the hot tub is located.
The resort is clean and well-maintained. We've always camped in "Tent City", but there are rental cabins available, and you can even purchase property and cabins. The campground's unisex bathhouse and bathrooms are always clean, and the outdoor shower is an especially freeing experience!
Another Sun Aura amenity that I want to especially promote is the Rollin' Smoke BBQ and Grill. They are the resort's restaurant, and we had some excellent food there. Their Cuban sandwich is amazing!
Sun Aura is a cool place for open-minded, naked, and lifestyle fun. We enjoy our trips to Hedonism, but between trips to Jamaica, this is a less-expensive and closer way for us to ease the dreaded...
Read moreMyself and the Mrs. decided to try this place out as it came highly recommended by a few people I know. We went the later part of the week of Camp Week (on of the most popular times for them) and that weekend. They had stuff going on every day with several things to do each day. The place was pretty full and could tell this is a busy time for them but for us everything went smooth. We took our golf cart to just cruise around and check the place out, everyone we seen was super friendly, waived and said hello and even answered questions for us first timers. Checking in was very simple, just make sure you have your vehicle, and camper info and if you bring a cart, proof of insurance for it. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would recommend this place highly if you are looking for this type of get away. We got there on a Thurs and left on that following Mon and have already booked a spot for the upcoming weekend, we will probably continue to do so as we have the weekends free. 5 star...
Read moreRacists work here. I will NEVER come back here. I drove two hours to get here with my friend and we walked in there just to visit for the day. My friend is Indian American. We provided our valid ID’s, and for some reason they had us standing there for what seemed like 30-45 minutes. They whispered amongst each other then they went into the back room for a while. We sat there wondering what was going on, and we were ready to go enjoy ourselves at the camp. The woman who was previously about to check us in came back and gives my friend a hard look, and said “We have the right to refuse service to anyone.” I questioned her, asking why she was refusing us, but she refused to offer any explanation. I think I know why. Don’t come here - the other bad reviews below elaborate on the dysfunctional owners of this place. You’re better off going to Ponderosa, or even better - Lake o’ The Woods. That’s the best, most friendly clothing-optional resort...
