Dear Tremont Management Team, We recently stayed at The Tremont Hotel in Galveston, Texas, before embarking on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and I can’t say enough about the amazing experience we had. Traveling from New Orleans, LA, we arrived in Galveston the day after Hurricane Beryl swept through, and the city was still in recovery. Despite the challenging circumstances, The Tremont was fully operational and provided a warm welcome to my family and many other travelers who were in similar situations.
The hotel itself is lovely, with beautifully appointed rooms that are both comfortable and inviting. We stayed in one of the apartment suites, which was spacious and perfect for our family. The only minor thing I would note is that it would have been great to have two bathrooms and a microwave in the suite, but this was a small detail in an otherwise exceptional stay.
What truly made our experience unforgettable was the staff’s compassion, friendliness, and resilience in the face of a very difficult situation. The night before we were scheduled to board our cruise, we were notified that our departure time would be delayed significantly. With the port not allowing early entry and many local businesses still closed due to the hurricane, we found ourselves essentially stranded after checking out of the hotel. However, the staff at The Tremont came to the rescue, allowing us to stay comfortably in the lobby while we waited.
I must specifically praise a few incredible employees. Mrs. Jennifer Boston-Jones was simply AMAZING. She went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of, extending the hotel’s transportation service to the port so that those of us with delayed boarding times could still make it. Her kindness, empathy, and exceptional customer service made a world of difference for us.
Natalie at the front desk was equally wonderful, answering all of our questions with patience and even recommending great spots to grab a meal while we waited. And Ryan Moore – what a gem! He was so sweet and patient, especially when it came to helping me find food for my child, who has food aversions. Every day, Ryan greeted us with a smile and a kind word, going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and taken care of.
During what was a very stressful time for my family, the entire staff’s warmth and professionalism helped keep our spirits up. Their dedication to providing exceptional service under difficult circumstances is a testament to their commitment to their guests.
I highly recommend The Tremont Hotel to anyone planning a stay in Galveston. The hotel is wonderful, and the staff is truly outstanding. Thank you to everyone who made our stay memorable – we will be back
