Had an alright two nights here camping from Sunday-Tues. Campsites are clean, and well-spaced. Restrooms are a few porta-potties. The pond is walkable and gorgeous in a beautiful little bowl of mountains that always seems to catch a cloud. Amazing star-gazing, and I bet there's some great fishing to be had.

However, there's very little presence of anyone "running" the campsite. Our site was reserved online, and was clearly marked out for us, but we did not interact with any staff, and ended up grabbing the last bundle of firewood which wasn't re-stocked on Monday.

Second night had a large group of college-aged kids partying and singing loudly till around 9:30-10-ish (well after sundown), and I'm not sure if they were told to quiet down, or did it themselves.

Also had what I assume was a Chatham local do a drive through in his sedan, racing around the loop with high-beams on and blasting on his horn. Only happened once around 9pm on a Monday night, but was kind of exasperating, and I'm glad no one got hurt.

No swingsets or anything like that for kids, but that's alright for a campground like this. Our 4-year old found plenty of rocks to climb and jump off of, and was able to run around without us feeling like he was...

My wife, our pup, and I spent the past weekend at the Basin Campground. It was a great place to chill out and disconnect. Right at the entrance of the campground is the gorgeous Basin Pond. The night we arrived the dark skies were littered with countless stars, and during our second evening we were treated to a wonderful, colorful sunset.||||The family acting as the campground caretakers during our stay were super friendly and on top of everything around the campground. They were running a top notch little patch of wilderness. All of the sites were spacious yet just private enough to not feel like you were crowded in the woods.||||There are plenty of trails for all abilities in the area to explore as well, making this a great home base for a weekend of hiking. I highly recommend...

The location was perfect for a hike up the Baldface Circle Trail (only 6 min away). Basin Pond was picturesque for morning coffee and a short walk from the campsites (0.2 mi). Our site (Site 11) was quite spacious and had plenty of room. The fire pit had recently been cleaned out and the picnic table was long and sturdy. The bathrooms were clean, but we missed the memo to bring your own hand soap. Wash dishes at your own site despite the numerous signs that warn about bears.

This is the second time I have been camping in this place and I would go again. The surrounding is beautiful, calm and quiet place. We drove from Boston and took us around 4 hours. And we came to a starry surrounding. We could see the whole milky way because of the clear sky. We hiked up to Mt. Meader from the campground. It's a moderate-difficult trail. The campgrounds we're very clean. Roy and his wife take care of the campground quite well.

beautiful, small and serene campground. the campsites are distinctly private, there are bathrooms on site + water access + firewood sold on site. our campsite had a fire pit, picnic table, and a small trail that led to the lake. the basin is the highlight of this campground. one of the nicest swimming spots in the area and very quiet! be careful for leeches if swimming. note: there is bad cell reception in the surrounding area.
