We stayed here 3 separate times during December and January 2023-24. I’ve stayed here multiple times over the past years, and it’s gone downhill since the Hurricane. The food is good but the dinner menu is lacking in choices. I can’t say anything but good the about the waitresses but there’s always a few bad apples in a bunch. My 1st stay in December we were showed a place to park our boat behind our cabin , it’s to bad no one told me there was a board laid down to walk on through the mud that had a 2” screw sticking out upside down so (yep) I stepped rite on it, punching a hole through my boot/waders the mainstream man proceeded to remove the board once notified. Another issue was a very unfriendly lady/ staff member who was working the register in the Breakfast/ Lunch dinner. We were told under special circumstances that we could check in at 9am and upon arrival at 8:45 we were told our room wasn’t ready/ cleared yet, well it turned our room was ready the day before and after 5 hours of waiting for no reason other than lack of communication between staff we were finally given the key. My last stay was last week. I asked the front staff at check in could I have a late check out and was told yes as long as the room wasn’t booked that night. I was told to call them around 9-9:30 which I did and was to no you have to check out at 11am, so we had to rush to get back literally throwing our stuff in bags just to satisfy a lie. During checkout I politely asked to speak with the owner/ manager and was told ( I’m part owner by the lady behind the counter, then I proceeded to ask could we talk outside, she said she was busy and she knew what I had to say and I could wait a few minutes or she would call me. I waited 15 minutes while speaking with apparently no one who gave a crap about repeat business or customer referrals. It’s been 3 days and she still hasn’t called and I figured she wouldn’t !! After 19 total days and nights spent here this past waterfowl season I’m doubtful I’ll ever be back and that’s to...
Read moreDon't book the motel for your family. The motel is meant for hardcore fisherman who don't care about amenities or luxury. It is very old, with plenty of insects. The housekeeper is very friendly, and does the best she can with the circumstances. I don't know what other rooms look like, but my husband and I were in room #1. We walk in and there are twin beds. The main room is about 9 by 12. There is a TV sitting on a broken dresser with half the drawers missing. The satellite TV has minimal programming with no local channels. The bathroom only has a shower with a shower head that you have to move your body just right to get water on it. Get your "tissue paper" ready before you sit down. Not much knee room between you and the wall. Spider webs in every corner. And, Georgia gnats are the meanest of all. They follow you everywhere; inside...
Read moreThe location is perfect, Isolated from the town with a boat ramp and restaurants. However, there are a few things that need attention. The public bathrooms and showers for Campers. During this winter months these areas need to be heated so people can shower comfortably without shivering of cold. The same should apply for the Summer Days when Air Conditioner is required. Also, these areas need to be checked and cleaned at least twice a day. The shower trash can stayed full for a few days. There were spider webs and mud dauber wasps in the shower ceiling and windows. These are not deal breakers for me, but I know not everybody look at things the way I do. I will be back and hope these minor observations...
