This is a great location for those who like the "in the woods" type camping. Lots of trees, for those that want it, and a couple areas in other sections that are more open (important if you want satellite reception).
The park is large, so there are plenty of sites to choose from, although in non-peak seasons they block off several of the sections (lowers maintenance costs). They have a large pool by the family lodge, but the pool and hot tub at the adult lodge were empty during our visit. The park is a moderate drive from big-box stores (about 45 minutes to a Walmart or Costco, for example) but local, smaller, grocery stores can be found much closer.
The park does allow "package" deliveries (FedEx; UPS) but doesn't allow for regular postal service delivery (regular mail) which is pretty much the standard with most RV parks like this one.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the rules are a bit relaxed -- for example, check-out time is 12:00 PM... but on our arrival (around 1:30 PM) there were well over a dozen people who had yet to check out. This potentially limits someone getting a great site. I also saw someone set up a travel trailer in a premium site, and then leave (days prior to a holiday weekend) — essentially “saving” the site for his return at the start of the weekend. This is rude, a violation of the rules, and inconsiderate of others.
We found a great spot in Section E that is more my style of camping (nestled in the trees) and found a great site that had a LOT of space. The shade of the trees provided for a more moderate temperature, and the overall experience was excellent. 30 amp power and water, but no sewer.
Section E is also very close to the family lodge, playground, laundry, and pool. Restrooms are clean and maintained often... and there are plenty of them scattered throughout the park, so you're never too far from a restroom, shower, etc. Using the facilities at the park will be helpful for those who can't get a full hookup site, and make your gray and black tanks last longer. There are a couple dump stations if you need them during your stay or upon entry/exit.
The sites are well maintained, and crews work to clear fallen branches and mow grass often. The campground store, which is located by the family lodge and pool, has hours of operation listed that are not always followed -- so don't expect it to be open as advertised. I'm sure the hours are more closely followed during peak season and holidays.

This was our first time at this thousand trails location and we really liked it. I was a little nervous after reading quite a few recent reviews that made it sound pretty terrible but I'm glad I didn't listen to the Karen's. We stayed in a 31ft trailer in the h loop. Site was adequately sized and perfectly level. Power and water hookups were available in a convenient location (there were some blackberries that could have been cut back away from the utilities for those who are uncomfortable with them). We had bathrooms located relatively close in either direction. Bathrooms could use a little updating here and there but they were kept very clean and well stocked the entire time we were there. There was also a nice little meadow with a pavilion up top where we liked to go hang out and watch the sunsets. The lower lodge and pool were closed but the upper lodge was well stocked with games and stuff to do. The store was clean and well stocked and even had some nice souvenir shirts and other items. (Probably the cleanest store out of all the properties weve been to) we did not use the pool but It was a large pool and looked really nice and clean. Putt putt course was pretty new and the family had a lot of fun doing that. This campground is pretty big with several different site loops. They all look pretty nice to me. I could see some of the loops near the upper lodge getting a little loud but that's anywhere you go. Can't control everything. Overall, we really liked this place. There are some areas that could be cleaned up a little but it's a great campground. If you are a city slicker and you cant handle a couple blackberries, if the sound of people having fun after dark bothers you, or if a campground that doesnt provide you with dog poop bags hurts your feelings, maybe camping/campgrounds...
Read moreWe stayed in the park 3/29/25. Becca was friendly, helpful & very informative when checking us in. As the park wasn't even near capacity she helped us change our site to a spot that would work better for our one night stay. We stayed in the "G" section. I went to check out the bath/shower room & found the building looked new! The bathroom & stalls & LARGE ADA shower were immaculately clean! The lower lodge (which was open) was warm, had the best TV I have ever seen at a TT (great picture quality). There was a movie activity going on with some guests present & a popcorn machine with delicious fresh hot popcorn provided for the guests. There were games/puzzles/books/movies available for guests. The lower level had a great game room with pool table/foosball/air-hocky/ping-pong/shuffle board. Lodge overlooked the pool which was closed for the season. The sites were large, wooded, beautiful. We had W/E/S hookup. We had enough signal to stream & use our VR headsets at night. (Verizon) I wish we had been able to see, use & enjoy the upper lodge, but it was closed. I read alot of negative reviews, but we were happy/impressed with the park. Is it perfect...no, but I talked with staff& i know improvements are being made. My only feedback for the park management (not complaints, just membership owner feedback) is to please improve the directional signage in the park as the map doesn't seem to quite match the park, & to close for a day or 2 & fix the potholes! Every now & then ya just gotta do it people! 😂 Found out that this park was the FIRST ever TT park! We'll definitely be back, & look forward to the continued...
