Stonebrook Lodge — Hotel in Cherokee County Community

|Wow – we have stayed at this hotel several times, as we like to frequent the casino in Murphy. Oftentimes, we get free rooms directly at the casino, but we really like the convenience of staying at the Stonebrook Lodge. Unfortunately, we will never be back…|Last weekend, we checked in and the room key did not work, we walked down to the desk for another key, and it did not work either. So, once again we went back down for another key, and luckily one of these keys worked. So, we laid our luggage down and headed to the casino. |Around 2:00am, we returned to the hotel and guess what………….the key did not work. We went downstairs for another key, and it did not work either. So, the nice lady at the desk walked with us up to our room to try a new key, and it failed as well. Fortunately, she secured us another room, so that my wife could go to bed. Unfortunately, I had to wait because our luggage was trapped in the room. So, I literally sat on the floor in the hallway outside the room, while she tried to help me gain access to the room. Ultimately, after about 30 minutes, she located a a screwdriver to remove and replace the batteries. Thankfully this worked, and I was able to get our luggage, head to the new room and finally go to sleep.|The next morning, my wife asked the new lady at the desk to comp our room for the inconvenience, and was quickly told, “Take 10% or nothing!” Her justification was, “well, there was nothing wrong with the new room we put you in.” Literally, she had zero concern for our inconvenience & frustration. Imagine, after all of that, we were insulted by the 10% discount, and were treated as if we were the ones who were inconveniencing them! |Due to their attitude, they have forfeited thousands of dollars from us, and we will no longer recommend the Stonebrook Lodge as a better option than the...
