I'm not AI so I'm going to give an honest review of this place, the hosts, staff, and the camp coordinator who needs replaced. BET!
Why don’t we have the option to leave negative stars yet?
Let's be real. Some businesses are so horrendous they don't even deserve one star. Why reward them for bad behavior, laziness that leads to filth and safety hazards, and conditions that could easily cause sickness? I used to let things slide. I wouldn't say a word about neglect and mistreatment from businesses. But when you or your family hit hard times and, despite your pride, you ask for help—only to be met with nasty attitudes and condescension—that's when things change.
They don't even care that they're talking to a war veteran. No one asked this veteran to help his country. He saw the need and quietly risked his life for everyone's rights, including those hateful, demeaning people in the camp office. I highly doubt they've ever faced real hardship, even though they fraudulently claim they have. Real people who have been through tough times don’t treat others this way.
Have you ever gone without food? Had your vehicle break down with no one to help because you have no family to call? No job because of the things you did for your country? Do you know what it’s like to cuddle a baby, trying to comfort them after the enemy blew up their parents, and then risk your life getting them to safety? Those nightmares don't go away. But after all that, you come home and get treated like garbage because people only see your struggles and judge you for them.
No one asks if you’re okay. No one cares what veterans go through, as long as their own neat little lives aren’t disrupted. They hold onto their self-righteous attitudes, boosted by meaningless titles like “director” or “manager.” Meanwhile, they can’t even run a business. I have pictures and recordings of the way I’ve been treated here—disrespect, bullying, all of it. They pick and choose who they mistreat. People speeding around in golf carts or expensive cars get a pass, but the rest of us are fair game for their cruelty. Speaking of safety, a group of kids was riding their bikes all over the place, unsupervised, and bullying each other. I don't think it's too much to ask that people are treated with respect, and that basic cleanliness and safety standards are upheld. I'm filing a complaint with the ODNR, and while I won’t include anyone else’s names unless they ask me to, wont hesitate to call out the unethical behavior I’ve seen. If anyone reading this has experienced the same, give me a like or follow so I know I’m not alone in this.
I do want to give a shout-out to ONLY ONE host, from A-loop, rode around with another gentleman selling 50/50 tickets. He was exceptional and is what a host should be. Pay attention all other host and staff. Follow this mans lead and do better! Stop being slugs. I'll...
Read moreAwesome, we visited Caesar Creek two years ago, and in my opinion, it was ok and made it to the revisit list (it rained that weekend, and I know that altered my judgment). This trip we booked and stayed in the same loop as before since we did not have any issues last time, and it was close to 2 bathrooms (with one being a shower house as well). This loop is centrally located for our many nite time strolls and close to a small play area for the grands.
For the record, it rained this weekend as well, but the experience was very different. They have really been working to make improvements here. The sites have new blacktop drives, concrete pads where your awning can nicely cover, updated sites that are now full hookup in the entire half of this loop, and a concrete pad where the electric post, water and sewer inlets are located. The fire 🔥 rings are huge, and they sit off the ground to allow plenty of air flow. The icing on the cake is that the sites are not too close together and there are trails that are right behind us, and you have a lake view from the trails.
My only constructive comment is for them to freshen up the bathrooms more often (spiders and webs everywhere) and give the bathrooms a mini makeover. Reminding you this is still nice for a state park, but with the park itself being so nice, it would make this place amazing. Word of mouth and positive reviews will definitely keep this place busy. I have to add my selfish wants, which would be a laundry facility.
Lastly, the beach is nice, small and quaint, and the boat dock is nice as well. Also, the staff here is so pleasant and accommodating. This is one of my favorite OH...
Read moreI will never stay at this campground again. We camp 5-6 times a year, for over a week at a time. We are expert campers. I have never seen such dilapidated, filthy bathrooms, and lazy rangers and camp hosts.
The bathrooms have not been cleaned once in five days despite a full campground over the holiday weekend. The toilet paper hasn't been refilled. The buttons on the wall for the toilets are near impossible for ADULTS to push and leak water out the buttons. The filth is revolting.
The camp hosts and rangers at front gate, if you can ever find them, are lazy, rude, and condescending. Our campsite wasn't mowed before we started our seven day visit. The grass was way too long to start. It was obvious it hadn't been mowed in two weeks prior to our visit. The campground was mostly empty when we arrived and we thought it a neglected, never visited campground due to the condition of lawns. They mowed everything around us the day after we arrived. Unacceptable.
No one even checked our site, if we were supposed to be there. No one was available to make a complaint or ask questions. Worst state park I have camped at and I've stayed in over 50 camp grounds in 30 states, some worse than others. This takes the cake. Cockroaches on site because they are attracted by filthy bathrooms. Never seen cockroaches ever...
