This is a great spot. I'm using it as a base camp for lassen and then going to lava beds national monument. Well maintained and cheap with a nice creek nearby. Flowing too fast to wade in though but was able to take a ice cold shower with a bucket haha. Spaces are also excellent for small trailers or tent camping. Some are great for larger groups too. Trees are good in some spots if you like shade and some are good for sunlight for solar panels. Stayed here 3 nights. Excellent. Although a little farther from lassen national park than I expected.

As a heads up, the closest real grocery store for meat and veggies is in burney, about a 25 mile drive. Stuff is real rural here.

Expect a 20 min or so drive to the park entrance and of course an hour drive through the park highway because the speed limit and everyone drives slow.

Also, it is located near the subway caves. I explored the main park section, and then part of a harder to reach area behind the stairs....there were some old steps down the main entrance to the left. Spooky and graffiti in there! I bet it goes a few hundred more yards to some sort of underworld portal, or is just where the bats at the campsite come from 😆. I did not check out the spattercone trail, but there appears to be a cone right across the creek and there is a cool lava flow in the camp.

I'll recommend it to my friends and anyone who is staying for lassen national park (worked out great to not have to deal with reservations.) I'll be...

Really nice environment, has a beautiful creek that you can go down by the water. Many water stations, including drinking water stations. Enough accessible bathrooms. Convenient location, driving down 2-3minutes there are two markets (Old Station) that you can purchase foods, firewood, etc, and you can take shower at one of those. Overall it’s a clean and quiet campground.

We walked-in during Labor Day weekend. There were a few spaces left at the campground like 3 to 5. It’s $16 per night for camping. I was saying the camp sites are not too far away from each other but luckily the people were quiet.

You can set fires at the fire pit. Not too many insects. In fact, this is one of the campgrounds that I saw the least insects which is so good.

This place could be a good place for watching stars too. But the most impressive part is definitely the water stations, so convenient to fulfill your...

Booked a 3 night stay and we left after first night, place was insanely rundown, old & dirty and just gross..we purchased a deluxe cabin C2 to be exact, toilet would not flush which was a nightmare, there were ants everywhere and spiders we were constantly killing in the cabin.. The deck is so old raggedy and dirty, It feels like you’re about to fall right through the rotten boards, so we didn’t want to go out on it. This place is not worth almost $200 a night!! Completely disappointed .. supposed to be a fishing resort but they have families with ton of kids running around screaming throwing rocks constantly in the creek scaring all the fish away.. all my two boys wanted to do was catch some fish and couldn’t even get the opportunity too!! We will never stay...

Not a bad campground and so great at the same time. It's a bit wide open, but there is decent elbow room. Good for trailer/r folks and tent campers alike. The creek is high over fished by the campers so come early or late season, or wake up early to go fishing if that is what you're here for. Other wise all your gonna be holding is your hands are your tackle box and rod. It's not a bad place to home base and find other fishing spots as Hat Creek spans a far distance. Bathrooms are clean. 40 mins to Burnley falls and Lake Britton, fish tacos, underground lava tubes. Great area to explore.

Very nice campground! We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The sites are well spaced out with plenty of parking, soft ground that makes setting up a tent easy, and each site has a fire pit and grill. There’s a creek running through the campground where you can fish or just relax, and at night it’s dark enough to clearly see the Milky Way. The price is excellent at only $16 per night with drinking water available. The toilets are chemical rather than flush, but overall the campground is quiet, scenic, and a great place to sleep well.
