We thought we'd give this place a try as we found it on Camp Spot, even though many reviews warned against spacing. This place bills itself as a "campground". It is not a campground - it is a trailer park with a few, cramped spots for transient campers. ||||Spacing:||About 98% of the property is a dilapidated, run-down trailer park with structure falling apart on many (i.e. rotted shelters for run-down RVs). They have about a couple dozen transient spots for "camping". We have a 30 foot RV that, with the driver's side tight against a tree, didn't fit inside the site when the awning was deployed. The passenger-side awning literally hung over our neighbor's site and there was not way we could be any further over on the driver's side!||||Internet/Wifi||Duck Neck offers FREE Wifi as an amenity. After we parked and got setup, we noticed there was NO wifi and NO cell service whatsoever. The paperwork they provide at check-in has instructions and information regarding their free wifi they offer. Unfortunately, their instructions did not work at all. We could not use our cell phones as hotspots because there was no cell service at all - no bars... almost like there were cell blocking devices... shady... When I nicely asked the folks at the camp store, this disrespectful kid tells me in a snotty tone, "We don't guarantee anything and don't control anything on Camp Spot." Shocked at the rudeness, I still responded politely, "I was only inquiring about the amenities you offer on your website - something I know you control." He responded with, "Whatever..." Another camp store employee responded with, "Well, we have internet but it's only here in the camp store, not the entire campground. We do offer a paid option for wifi (here's the rub btw) that you can subscribe to if you'd like." The "paid" option, shockingly, had a very strong signal on this property. Keep in mind, the property is very secluded and not near a town or anything else so they're well aware of the "paid" option and poor FREE wifi option... Starting to sound like a bait and switch? That's what we were thinking too... Last very interesting point about wifi, as soon as we departed and left the property - our cell phones got full bars literally as we left the property!! Sneaky, huh??||||In summary, we didn't get the amenities we were promised and we felt like we were guests at a drunken, noisy and trashy trailer park. If you've ever watched "Ozark" on Netflix, this place will remind you of the...
Read moreMy husband, pup, and I just got our first trailer and decided to journey up to Duck Neck campground for our first trip with her. We opted for a waterfront location right up near the river and the view was stunning! Felt like we had plenty of room to set up, our neighbors were respectful and relaxed, and the hook up was easy.
We especially loved the convenience of having a working bathhouse right on site with hot showers and toilets (not portable toilets!) especially because we had a mishap with getting our own hot water working in the trailer. You just cannot underestimate a clean bathroom and hot shower your first time camping!
It’s quiet, peaceful, and there are two small dog park areas which were so nice for our pup since she was missing the urge to run around like she does at home! All dogs are expected to be on leash and there are small stations to clean up dog waste, at your convenience.
There’s also a pool (likely not open until MDW), a park for kids, a small shore area, and a barn where they plan to host more community activities for campers (they provided us a list of the upcoming events this season). There’s a small convenience store with some basics and essentials which is great if you feel like you’re missing a little something. Not to mention the campground is only some minutes away from a grocery story, restaurants, even a farmers market at what looked to be downtown! Highly recommend: Modern Stone Age Kitchen.
Now for the next best part, all staff that we interacted with, especially Jess and Joe, were extremely friendly and helpful! They made accommodations for us, answered all of our questions, and made time to hear out any requests we had. Real, genuine people, who you can tell really care about the grounds and making it a great experience for everyone. They are the sweetest! You can see they’re working hard to continue to make improvements and let this place shine for the gem it is.
We loved it so much we’ve already booked to come back in a couple of weeks with our family. I could keep going on and on, but you’ll just have to check it out for yourself when you come :). You...

We recently stayed at Duck Neck Campground on a waterfront site, and it was absolutely delightful. I'm happy to give them 5 stars for their exceptional service and amenities. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome and assisting with any questions we had.
The campground itself was well-maintained, with our site offering a nice view despite neighbors being a bit close. Fortunately, everyone was respectful and quiet, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The new barn/pavilion was a highlight, providing enjoyable entertainment with a DJ one night and live band on another. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of outdoor activities.
Their store stocked the basics and featured really good ice cream, which is always a hit. The check-in process was easy, and we even secured a reservation for next year without any hassle. I appreciated their flexibility when I requested a change to another site for our future visit.
The campground is clean and well-kept. The bathhouse was clean every time we used it, and we really enjoyed the path through the woods—no trash anywhere, just a nice walk through nature. The seasonal campsites also looked like they’re being taken care of, which speaks to how well the whole place is maintained.
While there was a fee for Wi-Fi, it was reasonably priced and worked well throughout our stay, ensuring we stayed connected when needed. Overall, Duck Neck Campground exceeded our expectations, and we're already looking forward to our return...
