Fantastic family campground. Large salt-filtered pool, game room, fun activities on the weekends including ice cream socials, campfire sing-alongs, and potlucks. Our daughter loved the train ride. The owners and staff treated us like family. Two thumbs up. Can't wait to come back next year.

Great place to camp. Friendly staff & New owners are wonderful people. Super place for kids with a game room, two pools, playground, train rides, crafts, bingo & kid friendly movies. Also a nice gift shop & store. Centrally located at the base of the Pocono near all the attractions.

I’ve gone back and forth about whether I would write a review or not however I feel like I should, with the hope’s improvements can be made and make Silver Valley more successful.

I want to start by saying Minnie, the owner is an absolute doll! You could tell she purely has a heart of gold and wants her guest to feel welcomed, involved, and happy. We loved talking to Minnie and watching her interact during the Great Gatsby event and at the ice cream social. But as one person she can’t do it all so I would like to take a minute to discuss a couple things.

We recently moved to PA and have been trying out as many campgrounds as possible with ultimately finding one that will be our “go to.” This past weekend we went to SV, from the moment we arrived it was a cold welcoming. There were two ladies working and I asked if one was Minnie (the owner who I read about online), and the comment was no, the woman (a relative) said you are stuck with me. I didn’t mean anything by it. I love campgrounds and have always wanted to own one, so it’s fun to meet the owners etc. While in there we also witnessed interaction between the two ladies behind the counter, and one was not very kind to the other and didn’t want her to mess up her things. I jokingly made a comment about one of the ladies being feisty and the co-worker was like, “yeah she is.” We were uncomfortable by the first impression. I asked about our Good Sam discount and it was basically told to me in a blur, so I was just like okay, whatever. We were told we had a different site then what was originally said to me on the phone when making the reservation (which I think it says they are allowed to do that so okay).

Our site was not shaded, hot and nothing special. We were on the corner lot, no trees, etc. After we had the cold welcome and seeing our “changed” site we contemplated leaving.

One reason we chose Silver Valley Campsites was because of the activities they had going on for the weekend. Considering the Covid, the events were good. We went to the Ice Cream Social, BINGO, and the Great Gatsby Party on Saturday night.

Our last day we wanted to go to the pool for an hour of sun. We had our camper all packed and ready to go so after the pool we would just leave. When we walked into the pool again, we had a brief encounter. We were told it was not open yet and the person was vacuuming. It was 11:30 am when the sign says the pool is open at 9 am While lying there the water tester from an outside company came in to test the chemicals and she had a very unpleasant confrontation with the Silver Lake employee cleaning the pool. It was very unprofessional, and I am glad the lab girl stuck up from herself. No one should be talked to like that. I don’t understand why this person chooses to work with the public with a negative attitude. This final situation is what prompted me to write the review. If the SV employee can call and report a rude person then I should be able to share our weekend experience.

We spoke to other campers who are seasonal, and they said a lot has been on this person’s particular plate so perhaps that’s why she is this way however in a customer service job we expected more. The campground has every amenity and like I said Minnie was awesome, but changes need to be made. It does seem like they have a lot of seasonal campers so perhaps they don’t need weekenders like us. It was a true pleasure to meet Minnie, the owner of...

After living here for 16 months, I could say ALOT ! I’ll try and keep it short. Don’t go during the winter months ! I repeat DO NOT ! The NEW owners do NOT maintain the roads. They plow a few times a day, some days. Ice gets a few inches thick , NO way of walking your dogs. I fell multiple times a week. They don’t salt nor use any type of snow melt. Thankfully my husband had a truck bc I couldn’t move my car. Then when they do plow the roads , they plow you in your driveway.

Minnie was very nice at first , when they first took over but after a few months she became very rude. She doesn’t know how to speak to people in a respectful tone. She will talk over and down to you and rent was paid every month on time & never a nuisance, just not necessary. There is a way to speak to people and the way she does it , is NOT the way. If you have any type of disagreement go to someone else.

Let’s not even get started on the electric bill- that is the biggest rip off ever. We were paying anywhere from $50-$200. For the same amount of electricity. It’s insane how one month it can go up $100 or more. And we weren’t the only full timers that had an issue with electric.

They ran out of propane in the middle of winter bc no one pays attention and let it run down too low - when they did have propane they would charge outrageous prices to fill. When you try and have a different company than Warner try and drop a tank 100 lbs and over they won’t let you - John told us we would have to load our own 100 pound tank up if we decided to get one other than Warner’s and drive it somewhere to get filled. And if we didn’t like it , we could be out by the end of the month. (Keep in mind we paid rent on time every month and never bothered anyone). But yet want to charge $100 PLUS what Warner’s originally charges. Its evil to try and get over on people in the harsh winter months. Half the winter you can’t even drive on the roads but I was forced to load propane tanks in my car and drive to refill them every few days bc silver valley wanted was WAY too expensive. Y’all should be ashamed !

They let some people get away with breaking rules but yet others can not , not even in the slightest form.

The mud gets TERRRRRIBLE.

They only fixed stuff when someone would complain time after time. MONTH after MONTH.

Washers and dryers are expensive and only work 1/2 of the time.

I do love they have 2 swimming pools. One out door and one in door. Which are kept clean.

The park get super busy during the summer on weekends-

We did love...

We are part of a group that booked the campsite way in advance. originally , we booked a pull through 50 amp from July 14 to july 20 . this was so my son could come too. My son couldn't get off from work that week, so in early June we changed it to July 13 to 17 in hopes that my son could make it. As luck would have it , he could not get time off. So, on JUNE 13 at 3:45 my wife spoke to Margaret and changed it to July 14-17 we gave a deposit and that was set. It ended up being a crazy week with work being done and a family member passing away. We decided to arrive on friday , one day late. My wife called several times on tuesday and wednesday to alert the campground , but no one answered. I called on July 14th at noon, spoke to margaret and let her know that we would not be checking in that day , but I would pay for it , so I wouldn't lose my spot and because it's the right thing to do. That was the conversation. When I arrived to check in , there was a man and his daughter arguing with Margaret over something about leaving for 2 days and he said he was paying for a week. She was not very friendly to him and she said something about the septic. Anyway, when I went to check in , she said that she gave my site away and that she could give me a back in with 30 amp. I asked her why , and she said we were late . When I mentioned that I called yesterday, she said that she knew , because it was her that I spoke to. I asked her why she didn't say anything yesterday and she didn't have an answer. It was pretty much , " take it or leave it" . So we drove to the site to check it . It was small for my rig , and I called up the Jayco rep. He said it wasn't a good idea to hook up to 30 amp. It would be taxing on the camper. So I went to the office and informed her that I was leaving. But again , I asked her why she didn't tell me the day before . She just answered that it was the way it is. I said I would pay for the 14th since it was our fault , so she accepted it. However one of my fellow camp members said that the people in my pull through came on thursday (14th) . So technically , there was no loss of revenue since she gave it away on the day I had reserved. I see some good reviews for the owners , so let me just say YOU DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH MARGARET !!! i now nelieve that I shjould get my money back since she did not have my site available. If they do the right thing , I will gladly write a...
