This Best Western is a few miles east of Cheyenne. There are a couple of truck stops and a few industrial areas surrounding it. It is immediately off I-80. That's the bad. The good. We had a small suite (not sure if all the rooms were like this) on the second floor facing I-80. For being so close to the interstate it was very quiet. The front desk staff: We came to Cheyenne for the Frontier Days Rodeo. When we checked in the woman asked if we wanted to reserve a spot on the free shuttle to the event. Wow, that's a perk that was unexpected (remote parking and school bus ride is $20 per vehicle. If you can park at the event - which is full early - is $25 per vehicle). We took advantage and left the hotel at 12 and returned at 10:30. Plenty of time to get into our seats at the beginning and time after the last bull ride (Xtreme bulls was in the evening). Every encounter with the staff was pleasant, exactly what I expect. We did not eat breakfast so I cannot comment, but there always coffee by the elevator. The Room: As mentioned we had a mini-suite. Large room, with sink, microwave, full size fridge, dishwasher, plates, silverware and glasses. The bathroom was spacious and well kept. My only request would be a non-slip pad for the shower. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows firm. Two remotes for the TV was a little odd, but not off-putting. I did use the exercise room. It was nice, clean with a recumbent bike, treadmill and stair climber - along with a few free weights and yoga type mats. There was plenty of parking. It is about 10 minutes from the hotel to downtown Cheyenne, so it isn't too far away. All in all, if you are planning on going to the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo I highly recommend staying here. Just the free shuttle to the event if worth adding a couple of extra miles. The room was good, the staff friendly, informative and professional. It made our stay in Cheyenne a...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible service! When I first entered and spoke with the very nice lady at the front desk, I explained to her that I have environmental sensitivities and needed to check the room prior to booking a specific room to ensure I didn't get any negative reactions. She said they didn't have any rooms cleaned yet but she would be more than happy to take me into some rooms to find one that I felt okay in, if I came back at 3pm and that they had plenty of rooms available. When returning an hour later at 3pm there was a different lady working the front desk who claimed to be the manager. She was completely off putting and rude straight from the start. I explained to her about my sensitivities and what I had talked about with the other lady. She rolled her eyes and begrudgingly told me she would show me a room. She took me to room 111 which caused me to have symptoms. I kindly asked her if I could look at one more. She, in a very short and snotty tone said, that that's the only one we have. I told her that the other lady said they'd have plenty of available rooms for tonight's stay. She was still acting very put off and told me that all the rooms are going to be the same. I explained to her that all rooms do not "feel" the same to me and that she might not understand my sensitivities. She said, they ARE all the same!!! I explained that it's not about the layout of the room but that some rooms cause me to have horrible reactions. She said, again in a snotty tone, I'm sorry for you. She refused help me any further. I asked to speak with a manager and she stated she was the manager. They just lost thousands of dollars as we were planning to stay for the month. I've stayed at a lot of motels and have never, ever, been treated so poorly!!!! This manager was the most rude and unkind person I have experienced in a...
Read moreI don’t write reviews, but since this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, they deserve my time.
My original plan was to stay in Laramie during my road trip, but all their hotels were booked so I looked at Cheyenne. I was traveling with my dog for the first time. The lady who helped check me in was amazing - they offered her a milk bone but unfortunately she had dental surgery so she couldn’t have one. Never had I experienced a hotel that care about their four legged guests as much as the two legged ones! I asked about food options as I knew subway was the only think on the exit, and she whipped out a delivery sheet and saved my existence as I had not ate anything yet that day.
The hotel was quiet despite a kids pizza and pool party going on. Couldn’t hear a thing.
The room was clean and the sink was in the actual bathroom (I hate when they have the bathroom sink outside of where the toilet and shower are, I’m just odd like that). I slept incredibly well despite it not being my own bed.
The next morning they had a hot full breakfast and this neat automatic pancake maker - the dog got some of that instead of the milk bone!
The same lady was there in the morning when I checked out (I can’t remember her name but she’s blonde and deserves a raise or an award or something- she’s working hard!) and she kindly got a bandaid for me as I had cut myself playing Tetris with my car belongings.
I’m from the Midwest, I don’t need fancy hotels with spas and concierge, I just need clean rooms, nice people, and a good breakfast.
If I’m ever in Cheyenne again, I’ll be...
