We stayed overnight at Sun Valley Campground in a 36’ 5th wheel trailer. We planned on staying at the fairgrounds but there was a “closed event” going on so we had to find another place to stay. My wife called and they said they could accommodate us and gave directions. The entrance to the campground is a little on the small side for bigger trailers. We followed the sign and pulled over in the designated spot while my wife went inside and paid. Our rate was $45 cash or check. She gave my wife a campground map with our site highlighted and explained the needed way to approach. The roads are somewhat small and some of the tree branches low for bigger rigs but we made it to our site without issue. Our pull through site fit the trailer but I had to unhook and park the truck at an angle so I wouldn’t be sticking out in the road. There was plenty of room to put the slides out and extend the awnings. We didn’t use the sewer hook up but the 50 amp electric and water connections were in good working order. There is grass between the sites with a truck wheel for a campfire. The site pad was gravel as was the road leading to it. We had 1 bar of cell coverage with both AT&T and Verizon. The WiFi signal was so weak I couldn’t even connect. There’s plenty of vehicle noise from the nearby road but it died down at night. We were directed by the office to depart through the entrance going the wrong way on what their map shows to be a one-way street. It would have been difficult or impossible to go the other way. This campground served its purpose for us as an overnight stay and not very far from the main highway. I thought it was pricey for what you get and it’s definitely more suitable for...
Read moreI had reserved my space at this campground months in advance, however, when I arrived I was offered the worst spot they had. My request for was something close to the bathrooms and shaded because I was bringing my 2 dogs and I wanted them to sit in the shade when we were outside. When I arrived I was shown a very narrow camp site without any shade. Plus there was a slight incline at the site! It was horrible. I went back to the office and said I was not interested in that site but I would like the site next to it which was shaded and level. The boss lady said "NO, I'm saving that for anyone who comes off the highway and needs a place." I was shocked but had no choice but to take another spot without sewer and only had very limited shade. Of course, I had paid for the original site BEFORE I saw it and ended up with a substandard site instead without sewer. I never received any credit for this. The substandard site I was put on also was close to a party building that the following day had a church group rent out so my 'peace and quiet' was interrupted for most of the next day. I would not stay at this campground again. It wasn't crowded and most choices were very limited. Because there aren't many campground choices in the area; I wouldn't go to Chillicothe...
