I can honestly say that this was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel. Prior to my arrival, about 70 miles before my arrival, I called the hotel to ensure that they took the third-party payer our company uses for hotel stays. When speaking to the person at the hotels front desk, she assured me that they do take the payer and I would have no problem getting in a room. I made sure that I asked for a room that was no smoking. After giving my third-party payer information, my identification, as well as a description of my vehicle and signing the paperwork for the hotel room upon arrival - I went down to the room only to find out that it smelled of excessive smoke. In going back to the front desk to complain about the room and stating that I asked for a no smoking room I was told that this was a no smoking room. I assure the gal that it was not, that there was not a no smoking logo on the door as there are on other rooms that are no smoking, and that the stench was ridiculous. She then again told me that it was a no smoking room. However she told me she could spray something in the room. After being told that the county fair is in town and that there were no other rooms available I tried to call other hotels in the area. And found that they had no rooms either. I decided to grin and bear it and take the room that was given to me. Within about three minutes of being in the room there was a knock at the door. It was the gal from the front counter. She told me that there was a difference in the cost of the room versus what the third-party payer was going to pay. She then asked me to put it on my credit card. I then asked her again if I did not call her and gave her my third-party payer information, and that she confirmed that the room would be paid for by the third-party payer. She said yes that did happen, however she is new. She said that she also had her boss on the phone and had a telephone in her hand. She also said that they consider the room a suite. After stating that the mistake was her problem and not mine, she then asked me if I was going to pay for the room or leave. I told her I was going to leave and did so. I also advised her on my way out the door that I was going to call the third-party payer and let them know of my experience. She told me that was fine. Needless to say I did call our third-party payer and they took a report and said that somebody was going to be calling me in the morning. I also decided to write this Google review so that anybody who is a business traveler such as myself and has a third-party payer such as mine, should very strongly steer away from this hotel. I am now traveling 118 miles away to the next...
Read moreWish I could say that I had a positive experience, but that was absolutely Ve. Booked a room in advance and made it very clear that I have an injury and needed a ground floor room since there is no elevator in this hotel. Was assured by the woman who took my name and credit card information and contact info, as well as a gentleman who was talking to her in the background that they had a room on the ground floor this was not the case. I was offered the only room in the hotel, and it was on the second floor. Again no elevators, which is why I was clear when making re reservation. The whole hotel felt very seedy. It very difficult to understand the front desk worker who did not offer for me to speak to the manager when I asked. She did not recognize that I had a confirmation code nor show concern for my problem. She did not to make any attempt to contact anyone about the lie that I was told when making the reservation. She was indifferent at best. So here I am stuck in a small town that had no choice but to book a far more luxurious hotel at three times the price because I had no reservations in advance. Was given no apology. No offer to rehouse me. I Will make sure that all of my friends know of my experience with this super 8! I will never attempt to book another super 8. Will go out of my way to do as many reviews of this specific lying Hotel online whenever I have the opportunity, I sensed there was a problem when I was first told no room on the ground floor, and then a gentleman in the background offered me a room on the ground floor. The woman on the phone was less than willing to do this , I have no understanding why this hotel does not care anouu individuals who are handicapped! I imagine the ADA could be interested! The service was despicable, and I was very fortunate to have the resources to book a beautiful hotel down the street. This experience will stick with me for sometime and no amount of the platitudes, which I’ve seen the management, responses, on this site will do.! Anger is not a strong enough answer for this ridiculous situation. If you don’t have a room that will accommodate people with special needs. Say so. Don’t lie and book it anyway. And give a confirmation number. Shame on you if you don’t care, shame on you if you choose to do nothing or make any effort to rectify your mistake. Shame on you. Chillicothe Super8 management, staff and...
Read moreLike most people, I look for a nice place to stay with a modest price. The pictures on the Super 8 website and Booking.com app are misleading. The place looks nothing like what you’d see if there. Upfront, the website and app should clearly state that the hotel / motel is NOT smoke free. Looking at the reviews now on Trip Advisor and Google, these problems span 8 years! The Director of Operations at Super 8, Richard Primm, replies to every comment with the same scripted response. However, several of the same problems seem to continue. Super 8 and Wyndham should consider cutting ties with this place.||The smell was horrendous. Musty / Mildew and SMOKE. Had I known that this place had smoking rooms, we wouldn’t have stayed there. My wife had to use a couple hand towels to stuff under the door to prevent the smell of smoke from coming in. The smoking rooms were only a few doors down from us on the second floor. The front attendant said there were no available rooms on the first floor because they were booked. In the morning the parking lot did not have enough vehicles in it to indicate that the hotel was booked solid. ||The door required “persuasion” to lock as the plate on the side of the door slab is damaged. The room had patch filler in several spots on the wall, unpainted. The ironing board cover was stained and dinghy. The towel racks were loose. There was only one towel in the shower room and a wash cloth on the floor when we got there. The grout in the floor tiles in front of the shower was cracked and in need of redoing. Base tile along bathroom floor was sitting against the wall, not attached. Whoever painted the bathroom left the tape around the toilet paper holder (extremely poor job). Patch filler caked around shower curtain mounting bracket. ||The sheets had been bleached so many times there were spots of transparency. The mattress was a brick. The pillows were 2/3 the size of a standard pillow. ||The carpet in the main hallways was dinghy. The walls in the stairwell and hallways were scuffed severely. The doors are all scuffed where the room number placards are located.||The parking lot is in dire need of repair from severe cracking, uplifting, and erosion in some areas. Especially near the front by the entrance. I could see where the elderly and disabled could...
