Captain's Cove Resort Community — Hotel in Chincoteague

Although the community is very nice, I cannot recommend Gemcraft Homes as a builder. I had called the 800 number, and made an appt to meet with Charlie. We wanted to get details so we could make a decision on building. When I arrived, they had no record of any appointment, so she sent us off with her assistant to look at models, and said she would meet with us after. About 45 minutes later, we came back, and she had another person and could not meet with us. She was rather rude. She did call to follow up, I had asked her about internet providers, about which she had no idea. She said she would find out and let me know. I never heard back from her Then a couple of weeks later, I called the 800 number again to make another appt. Stephanie said they only take walk-ins on Sundays. So we went back thinking we could speak to someone. When we arrived, the door was locked and no one was inside. We called Stephanie again, and she contacted Charlie. When Charlie came back she asked if we had an appt. We told her that Stephanie said you didn't do appt and it was walk-ins only. She said no, she could only meet if we have an appt. So again we were lied to. Again she ushered us out the door. I can safely say, the we will NOT be building with Gemcraft. They obviously have serious communications problems and have no sense of customer courtesy, let alone satisfaction. If they can't even communicate about a simple appointment, I can't imagine how they could build a proper home. They wasted hours...

I would not book here - In a world of everyone gouging for every penny this place is no exception.

rented an Air BNB. They want 15.00 to use the pools playground basically anything.

So for my 3 kids to go swimming for 30 minutes they want 45.00.

Then to watch them swim - we would also had to pay 30.00 dollars,despite not going in the pool.

So for a 40 minute swim... it would cost 75.00 - insane.

Also.. I understand paying for ammenities, but the playground??

Then- you cant bring your own drinks to the pool... they make you buy them..

Just a place that sees you as dollar signs and...

Awesome little community. Builder rep and Loan rep are great to work with. We had an amazing realtor. Keep in mind most of the lots need flood insurance. With the need for property taxes on vehicles/boats and trailers EVERY YEAR, and flood insurance separate from home insurance, it's hard to justify buying a home in...
