We stayed at Holmes Creek Camping & RV Resort from September 8–22, 2024. Upon arrival we found that the office was a charming gift shop boutique, and the staff was friendly.
We were in site 29, a well-maintained gravel pull-through with full hookups, a picnic table, and a fire ring, making it both comfortable and convenient.
The campground is beautifully kept, with amenities to enjoy. The park features bathrooms, showers, a laundry room, a playground for the kids, a paddle launch area for water activities, a covered pavilion perfect for gatherings or relaxing outdoors, and hiking trails in the area.
While Holmes Creek is pet-friendly, it’s worth noting that there isn’t an enclosed dog park. However, there’s plenty of grassy space around the park.
One unique feature about this park was the "Parakeetaville," a bird aviary that added a fun, unexpected touch to our stay. You can schedule a time to go inside during feeding sessions by simply asking the staff. Unfortunately, our schedule was quite busy, and we didn’t get the chance to enjoy this unique experience.
While we were in the area, we discovered a nearby wolf preserve called Seacrest Wolf Preserve and were able to book a Saturday group tour. This experience was truly unforgettable, as we had the rare opportunity to step inside the wolves’ enclosure, pet them, and even receive kisses from them. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for my family and me!
The tour lasts two hours with the wolves and includes an additional hour with their small animals—all for just $50 + tax per person. It is an incredible value for such a unique experience.
There are a few important things to note: they have a dress code, and you cannot bring your phone or other loose items like keys or wallets into the wolf enclosure. However, you can purchase a disposable camera to capture the experience. Additionally, they offer a separate photo opportunity for $5 + tax per person, where you're allowed to use your phone to take pictures.

Read morewe tried to stay as positive as possible while we were there but after staying here two months We will not be coming back.
Brunette manager ( Carly) picks and chooses what rules to tell who and the weekend stayers don’t have to abide by any. The longer we stayed the worse it got unfortunately because we did love the managers mother in law who owns the campsite. The prices online are not accurate. It said online before our stay there was a military discount and monthly was 850$. When we got there it was 950$ a month and no military discount allowed, plus a 250$ deposit (that some people we talked to did not have to pay this and we did) After a while We were accused of putting doggie bags in the woods because “there were only a couple dogs at the ground” while there we’re constantly other dogs in and out of the site both monthly and on weekends and we had a bag full of our doggie bags to prove it was not us. Even so Carly proceeded to follow me while I was walking my dogs every day on foot and on golf carts, constantly checking after me until we started taking our dogs to other parks every day.
Even then she would be hanging out and walking behind our campers, following, and even took pictures of me at one point causing us to find a different site to stay at.
To pay almost 1000$ a month just for a spot and then feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable is unfortunate because we did love the blonde MIL who owns the campsite but the DIL Carly is giving this place a bad...
Read moreThis is a SOLID 5 star RV Park! The maintenance of this park is the best I've seen! I couldn't name a single thing wrong if that's all I was looking for. We went memorial day weekend & stayed 4 nights. The park was quiet at night (excluding nature). There's a small pond that everyone enjoyed fishing in (my daughter didn't like drowning the worms so dad set them free 😀) They had different light setups in the younger trees & it was beautiful. They did a free movie night with a big screen, free popcorn & cotton candy so the children enjoyed it alot. They have an entire area set up for games such as horse shoe, volleyball, checkers, cornhole, & more. There's a peacock in the neighbors backyard that kinda reminds me of the bird in the up movie when I heard it. We took our dogs on walks & down to the river launch & in the later evening you could enjoy seeing the fireflies down there. Besides all the amenities, the fact this place is so clean & very well maintained, you couldn't go wrong. Don't risk it with others in the area, this is EXACTLY...
