A Wonderful Step Back in Time at The Pine Tavern Lodge||What a pleasant surprise staying here! It truly felt like stepping back into a simpler time—1927 to be exact—yet with all the modern comforts you'd hope for. The property has clearly been lovingly updated over the years, retaining its historic charm while offering a cozy and welcoming stay.||We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, Dave Owen, who generously shared stories about the rich history of The Pine Tavern Lodge and the surrounding area. That conversation alone made our visit feel even more special—it's clear that this place is cared for not just as a business, but as a piece of local heritage.||We stayed in Unit #1, which was thoughtfully converted from what was once a carport. The transformation into an efficiency-style unit was well done, with tasteful decor by Dave and his wife, Robin. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and thanks to the quiet location, we had a peaceful night's sleep.||We especially appreciated the in-room coffee pot and the unlimited coffee—perfect for a relaxing late-night cup of joe. The lodge is only a short and scenic drive from downtown Floyd, which made it easy to explore and enjoy the area. One of our favorite moments was relaxing on the back deck, taking in the peaceful countryside views.||All in all, The Pine Tavern Lodge is a hidden gem. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. A heartfelt thank you to Dave and Robin for their hospitality and for preserving such a unique...

Read moreThank you for a wonderful stay in Suite 3A (King Bed/Hospitality Suite) on September 3-5). Dave, the owner greeted us warmly and showed us to our room and all the features of the room. The suite is HUGE and so comfortable. Full-size living room with a kitchenette (including dishes/utensils/pots & pans), large bedroom with a king-size bed and attached bathroom. Lovely shared deck on the rear of the suite, which was perfect for relaxing with a book. Room has just the right mix of antiques and modern furnishings. We were so grateful for the white noise machine/air purifier in the bedroom. Electric fireplace was also enjoyable when the evenings turned chilly. Nice bath towels and soap/lotion/shampoo provided. Not a single detail is missed....snacks left in the kitchen, a fire-starter and mosquito spray at the fire-pit if you are so inclined to sit out and light a fire. Dave is available (we saw him every day) to provide restaurant recommendations or chat. The cost of the suite was right in line with our expectations. Parking is at the front door....so no long trek with your luggage. Very close to "downtown" Floyd and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Can't say enough good things...if I could give them 10 stars I would. Highly recommend a stay at the Pine...
