We camp here as often as we can. The whole place is kept clean by the camp hosts and the bathrooms are cleaned at least once a day by a professional team, however, if needed in between the camp host has no problem taking care of it. We have only encountered nice people working out there. The camp hosts and Game Wardens patrol the area often. Only things that I would say is a negative is people tend to drive to fast sometimes and occationally you will have someone with a dog that barks at night. ||The campground is not far from Oolagah so it makes it nice if you need to run to town for something. ||We go to Hawthorne Bluff to chill out and enjoy nature. It is beautiful any part of the season you go. Most of the time it is quiet and everyone is laid back . You can see the lake from a majority of the campsites if you look through the trees. We have camped in many of the sites and I can not say that any of them are bad sites. ||If you decide to join us look for the older burgandy and chalkboad van, stop to say HEY and have a cold drink!||Old campers hint: bring dryer lint to start your fire and don't for get the...

First impression was not great, we had reserved a lot that was advertised as having shade but this ended up not being the case, there were no trees close enough to the lot to provide shade. The out house style toilets were out of toilet paper and the shower building toilet was clogged and overflowing (mens side). We stayed one night at the camp ground and the evening/ night was the worst part. There was no shade over our lot but there was a street light that was on all night which was about 15 feet from our tent and made it harder to fall asleep. In addition to this, the noise at night was crazy. If it was just the hum of the PSO power plant turbines and people laughing and having conversations late into the night it would have been OK but someone was running a gas generator in the camp site till almost midnight. On top of this people were blasting music in the lot 2 spots over for us. Needless to say it was a nearly sleepless night. I would not recommend going here for a proper camping experience. Overall very...

These people are beyond the worst people I have ever associated with. The gate closes at 10 pm. We and another couple got caught behind a stationary train which blocked 3 of the intersections in town cutting us off from the campground. We called and said we would be a few minutes late. Like literally we estimated 5 to 10 minutes past 10. Evidently, it doesn't matter what the circumstances are. The reason they gave was that they wake up at 5 am (even though I just watched them watch TV til I left around 11). They expect you to leave your vehicle unattended at the gate all night and walk all the way to the campground. Well we wouldn't mind the walk but we aren't leaving our vehicle unattended all night on a main road in an area we aren't familiar with. So my husband is hauling our camp from the site back to the truck on foot. We both would have done it but to top it all off I'm pregnant. That's the care and attention these people give to their customers. I highly recommend that people considering this campground...

We had the best time we go out there from time to time. I take my daddy who is 90 years old and we have so much fun fishing. Highly recommend this place. But make sure the weather is well.

This is a recap from a previous stay here 3 yrs ago. For the most part, the sites are level. Some are short and at a slant. Be careful on the site you chose. Some next to the water's edge are short and slant down. For a class A, we were in site 50, a great spot that's level. Site 48 is next to it also good for a class A. All sites are 30 amp. If you don't have a few hoses to get your tank filled, just stop at one of the faucets by the road. The dump station is out by the entrance. This will be our place to stay next year. A mile and a half or so is an Apple store for food, and close to it are subway, fuel, and a laundry mat.
