I really wish I would have gotten pictures of this place. First of all, I didn't know what this place looked like when I booked it, so that was my bad. We were coming up on 10 hours driving and just NEEDED SLEEP. so I pulled up "hotels" on my phone and booked the cheapest one. (whoops) So we get here, and we're the only car in the entire parking lot. I honestly thought it was closed down! So we go in, the lady at the desk was very nice, so she gets a 🌟. We got our room key and went to our room. The beds were not made, there was trash, and it smelled like old feet. Right back up to the counter we went! The desk lady gave us another room key, this room the beds were both made! Now we were weary of the room, as we didn't know if any bugs also inhabited the room. No bugs, thank goodness. Now, this might just be me, but I like to have no evidence of former boarders in the rooms I'm staying in. This was not the case at this place. There were dirty towels in the bathroom, used up toilet paper rolls, and some trash in the trash can. It's fine, we just didn't touch those things. The TV, fridge, and all lights are hooked to extension cords and plugged into a plug in power strip, which doesn't seem safe but what do I know? There was also a very large crack/hole next to the door. If you are used to amenities you won't be comfortable here. There were no tissues, coffee makers, oh and did I mention that the bedding was ripped and covered in stains???
But then the good, the pillows were comfortable, the bed was comfortable, the A. C worked well, the water had good pressure, the toilet flushed good, the TV worked, the fridge worked (sorta), you couldn't hear the freeway on the street, and the lady we met at the front desk was very nice. If you just need a place to sleep, this place is good. There were no bugs, and the doors locked. I wouldn't recommend for a long stay, but for 1 night it...
Read moreI don't understand these great reviews (which is why I chose this place and made a reservation). KEEP DRIVING ! First they gave away my $65 reserved room then they charged me $80 for the same room (there were only about 4 cars there, pure bait and switch). If it had not been a downpour (and so called reserved room) I would have kept going 13 more miles to Memphis who has more to choose from including a Travelodge. The room was decently clean however the bathtub was absolutely untouchable, I was looking forward to a warm shower after being drenched, but skipped it I was so grossed out by it. I actually took a picture. Also, this was the absolutely most Noisy place I have EVER stayed in my entire life. My room was within 100 ft of the highway and the diesel trucks never even slow down. Pet Friendly? NOT!! I took my pet out to potty in the rainstorm to the grassy area, it was dark by then, then the next morning I went to take her out again to the same area. This time I noticed there were 2 large signs saying to keep the pets off the lawn because children were playing (there is no way I would let my kid play within 50 ft of the roaring trucks flying by), I ignored the sign because, after all, they supposedly are 'pet friendly' and the rest of the place is asphalt (sorry my pet is not urbanized). The owner actually came out to shoo me away...I reassured him my pet did not go poo-poo on his precious lawn. I can't emphasize enough...Keep Driving...13 miles to Memphis one way, 40 miles to Amarillo the other way. The one star reviews...
Read moreWe were driving home to the Dallas area from Colorado and couldn't find a single hotel with vacancy in Amarillo. We were planning to just drive the rest of the way home but I currently have an exercise related injury and it was becoming extremely painful for me to sit any longer. We did NOT want to stay here but we had no other options at midnight. The not so scary: the AC unit worked well, there was a new TV, there was a fridge and both the fridge and freezer worked, bathroom sink was clean and the toilet was clean and flushed without issue, and the room was actually quiet despite being right next to a busy highway. The gentleman who checked us in was really nice. He seems to be a 1 man show. The scary bits...the top sheet was stained with old blood or something (we completely stripped it off the bed and just used the blanket), pillows were pretty flat, the shower was suspect (we washed our faces, brushed our teeth, threw on deodorant and hit the road) and the towels were in pretty sad shape (I had a hand towel from home we used instead). We had a bird nest with a mama and 3 babies outside our door and they were very loud when the sun came up. Final thoughts: Unless you are totally desperate or have an...
