Want to go to a lake where you have plenty of space for water sports but also spectacular views? Check out Shoal Bay on Lake Dardanelle. There is a camping area along with a roped off swimming area to keep the little ones safe from boat traffic. There is ample space to boat around and wake board or tube without the congestion of some of the more well-known lakes in Arkansas. Its a hidden gem that you just have to check out! #visitarkansas #naturalstate #travelarkansas #mountmagazine #lakelife #arkansaslakes

We stayed at Shoal Bay Campground during the Ozark 200 Dual Sport motorcycle rally. I believe most campsites have water and electric hookup but no sewer hookup. Mostly back in blacktop pads. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring on a level pebble graveled area, which most appear large enough to pitch a tent. The showers are warm and the bathrooms were well kept and clean. Park staff was helpful and friendly. If you do not want to cook just outside the park is a decent country diner (The Dinner Bucket). A Dollar General and two gas stations/minimarts are within a few miles of the campground. Camping rates in June of 2019 were $18/site/day. Decent place, we'll probably be back.

Beautiful park. The shower and bathrooms were decent. The sites are well maintained. The swim area is a bit small and the bottom has a lot of silt and sticks, so definitely bring water shoes. They have multiple ramps and docks. The way you have to reserve the spot is not the easiest (online only). However, there is cell service here, so you are able to reserve it from your phone while here. The site is a little difficult to understand, so be patient. Overall, it's a great park to stay at.

Beautiful area and campground! Right on the water. Has a playground in the middle of the campgrounds. The women's showers in the restroom closest to the entrance were horrible, filthy. There were two showers but only one was in working order, it was the handicapped one, and the shower head was way too low for a standing person. The drain drained very slowly, so the filth on the shower floor got up around the ankles before the shower was done. The next evening I tried the showers farther away, near the primitive camping. They were good. Some of the campsites were too close together for my liking. ...

I’m writing this at 5am since I haven’t been able to sleep for hours now so please forgive the snarky tone: It’s laughable that all these reviews are saying clean and quiet. The campground butts up against private property where the neighbors have a rooster that crows ALL night and day so good luck getting any sleep. The bathrooms are nasty. The park host spends all his time patrolling the park in his golf cart but never actually gets out to do anything. The only positive I can say is at least the sites are a little farther away from each other than other places...
