We stayed at Shoal Bay Campground during the Ozark 200 Dual Sport motorcycle rally. I believe most campsites have water and electric hookup but no sewer hookup. Mostly back in blacktop pads. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring on a level pebble graveled area, which most appear large enough to pitch a tent. The showers are warm and the bathrooms were well kept and clean. Park staff was helpful and friendly. If you do not want to cook just outside the park is a decent country diner (The Dinner Bucket). A Dollar General and two gas stations/minimarts are within a few miles of the campground. Camping rates in June of 2019 were $18/site/day. Decent place, we'll...
Read moreBeautiful area and campground! Right on the water. Has a playground in the middle of the campgrounds. The women's showers in the restroom closest to the entrance were horrible, filthy. There were two showers but only one was in working order, it was the handicapped one, and the shower head was way too low for a standing person. The drain drained very slowly, so the filth on the shower floor got up around the ankles before the shower was done. The next evening I tried the showers farther away, near the primitive camping. Read moreI’m writing this at 5am since I haven’t been able to sleep for hours now so please forgive the snarky tone: It’s laughable that all these reviews are saying clean and quiet. The campground butts up against private property where the neighbors have a rooster that crows ALL night and day so good luck getting any sleep. The bathrooms are nasty. The park host spends all his time patrolling the park in his golf cart but never actually gets out to do anything. The only positive I can say is at least the sites are a little farther away from each other than other places...
