Sites are way too close. We couldn’t build a fire because the fire pit was right beside the parking for the next camp site. We didn’t want to damage their truck.

The closeness of the sites evidently led to hearing the next campers music being loud enough to sound like it was blaring right at us in our camper. I left a 2 star review on their website about it among other things. (My review never made it to their website.)

Management quickly took care of the noise, stating she had looked me up and found I was currently staying there. However, I found management quite rude. The manager emailed me back about the review and she stated, “We have been down to your site and spoke to the people with their music but found it was not blaring.” Essentially calling me a liar. She also indicated that I was to use the emergency number in this event “instead of leaving a bad review.” It wasn’t an emergency it was an annoyance. It was around 11:30pm at night and quite time is stated at 10:00pm. It was loud. And it wasn’t my only reason for giving it a low review.

Other items needing improving:

The indoor pool was extremely cold and parts of the liner were chipped off throughout the bottoms and sides of the pool.

The outdoor pool was slippery due to mildew and smelled like sulphur. I didn’t let my kids swim in after the first time because of these issues.

The bathhouse in section A seemed relatively clean, but I found that the trash was not taken out daily. One of the stalls trashcan had dirty baby wipes in it for three days. Another stall had a seat that was too small for the bowl. Who wants to sit on the rim of the toilet? Another stall has tiles and sheet rock missing with trash placed inside of it. On a good note, the shower stalls seemed new and clean, but I did not use them. I used the shower in my camper. According to my husband, the men’s side needs attention as well. One stall was out of order and another one had a small toilet seat as well. It did not look clean.

The paved roads around the park have potholes or erosion issues. This is mainly up Holly Mountain road on the backside of the property.

All the things I mentioned are minor things that could be easily improved by the property owner.

The only thing that saves this place is the river. The river is beautiful and great for tubing. There are many shoals and wading pools for the kids. The fishing is okay, but don’t expect trophy’s. You can see ducks and little ducklings. Sometimes the deer come down when everything is quite. This place is truly a diamond in the rough.

Ultimately, I believe management is doing what they can, but the property owner needs to invest in improvements. Until then, it’s...

We recently stayed at River Falls at the Gorge. We were very excited for the visit as its was only an hour from our house so far enough to be a vacation but conveniently located to North Atlanta campers. When we checked in our paperwork was not in the after hours box. Thankfully there was someone inside to help us. We waited about 20 minutes to get it sorted out as our site was accidentally double booked although I had received a confirmation email less than one week prior to check in. We were moved to another site that was... barely large enough to fit our 35' camper, had a very small living area, was muddy with little rock and had dog poop on it. To top it off, nobody was on the site we had originally reserved all weekend. That was very disappointing.

On a positive note... this place has potential based on location. It needs an overhaul but I can see us going in the future... provided that we get the site we originally book. Our recommendation is to lay gravel on each site to reduce the mud from all the rain. Few were freshly graveled. The map online does not accurately depict the actual size of the park and how large it really is. I would place dog doo disposal pole/ stations with bags throughout the park to promote the proper disposal of pet waste. I would recommend dedicating a place to get into the river for tubing and a dedicated place to get out. As it exists campers have to "cut through" someone's site and I felt bad for those campers... although the ones renting the space didn't mind. Finally, the road dedicated as an exit was winding and we could never have gotten our 35' camper out of the campground on that route. We went back the way we came in, against the traffic. Oncoming traffic had to pull over but that may be unavoidable. We never used either pool although they looked fine. We also never used the bathhouses so we have no guidance to provide on those either.

With all the disappointments I would push my husband to go back here for the access to the river for our son to go tubing and for short trip time for a weekend getaway. BUT... I would recommend going to the campground to see the sites in advance and calling the office directly to verify you are accurately booked for the site you originally reserved. The alternative......

As an RV’er for 45 years this has been an adventure. 3 stars for scenery only.. I am a detail person and I am dissatisfied with a few things in this campground. They closed 2 out of 3 dump stations while we were there and offered no explanation. Dump stations are labeled AB&C...the sign at C said closed use A&B....the sign at B said dump closed use A&C...Really!!!! The 3rd remaining dump which is A has no water hookup to wash your tanks out after dumping and was on a large downhill slope.....how is waste supposed to run uphill?.... I slide into an empty A section sewered site to dump when we left....Also the stations were all on the opposite side of RV’s dump valves which means you have to turn around to dump then turn around again to leave campground. There is not a lot of room to turn around without asking several people to move their vehicles. We were in the B section which has no sewer.... I have a 37’ fifth wheel and they put me on a site that was 23’ wide by 40’ long. Had to park truck part way on road.. It was a challenge to jockey in there with the roadway narrow as it is.....plus our table and chairs had to be put on the site next door. Once slide outs were out no room around rig....I also noticed there was no egress-ingress for registered guest to re-enter campground should you leave to see the surrounding area....if you get there just right when you return you could get through gate fast but if not you could wait behind campers coming in for a long time. We waited 30 mins to get back in but talked to people who said they waited an hour on a busy day. I returned from our trip out and my wife forgot the password paper to get back in so I went in to ask for it and was treated like a child for forgetting my paper. The lady behind the desk was rude when she could have just ask me nicely for my site number and give me the password but no...she talked rudely and talked down to me...she could have talked to me.. I held my tongue. I must say the scenery was beautiful but I’m not sure we would go back....i would have to sit on my decision to...
