The stay at the campsite was disappinting due to Scott’s actions. Last year we had zero issues with the old director Kevin. The new director this year kept giving us the run around and was lied to us. He was rude and not very good. He told our pastor you can’t check in before 4 I won’t receive you, “you’ve been here before so you don’t need to come before hand to see.” When we are spending that much money we should be able to see the layout before hand. He also stated he allowed us to come in at noon which was not true. We called him 4 times the day before and 3 times the day of with questions, no response. When we confronted him about this his response “oh what number have you been calling, I had zero missed called.” We showed him our logs. Food was not enough, it was rationed with super small portions. When we asked for more ranch or food they said no. One of our members asked for more food and his response was “go get leftovers from the other tables”. He then kicked us out before hand, stated check out was at 10 am the night before, stated it was always like that. After speaking to the other group at the camp they said checkout was always 12.30 pm and it was always like that. We were discriminated against. You guys state hospitality is important, under the new director Scott it was not even close. I was extremely disappointed. Campsite...

We as a school have used Camp Koinonia for three years for our retreat for upper grades. We have used several camps since 2001, this is by far the best camp we have ever used. There are so many activities available for the students, we schedule archery, the challenge course, and the Escape Room every year. Our students did the sling shot activity one year and tried the ax throwing this year. We give the students free time to play basketball, volleyball, soccer, foosball, pool, 9-square, or just relax and walk around the camp. We have a few brave souls that get up and go fishing in the dark and cold of the early morning. The meals are great, the camp even provided us with smores baskets each night for the campfire. We have used three different cabin facilities, and all have been clean and in good repair as well as heated. Many have restroom facilities right in the cabins--a real plus with teenagers. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Some of our school staff even thought the camp would be a great place for an adult retreat. If you have need of a place to "retreat" to this is a wonderful camp to...

Management was better with under Kevin I don’t understand what’s up with the new management Some folks left camp a day or two early due to the fact when It came to feeding time it was a battle field just to ask for more food they didn’t take it lightly and were denied more food from the kitchen my group were told to go and look at tables per table for other families leftovers and eat that …which is quite demeaning for moral and good ethics I was not going to take away a strangers families food considering portions we’re honestly and truly small… The pool was reserved for baptisms for our group, we didn’t perform baptisms but the pool was reserved for our group. We had three kids swimming in the pool, they were removed by the director as he was laughing. The unfortunate part is the other group that was not with us was allowed to swim during our reserved time. We respected the camps rules but the director did not respect ours.

I never leave reviews but honestly I just had to this...

We had an absolute blast! We got 20 campers together and about 3 to 4 tents! Kevin worked with our main contact real well & gave us a general price… we did the paperwork among ourselves… We loved the archery, the swimming pool, all the games and the hiking, even caught a fish… the bicycling that we can do around there is for all levels … Our kids made great use of the pond and outdoor stage… we plan on doing it every year! Such a fun way and such easy access right off the freeway for all of us to get together! With all the lovely trees, we were able to set up an outdoor movie theater and made popcorn!

Our scout district routinely uses this camp for their annual Klondike (a winter-based competition of patrols). But our troop was in a pinch and needed somewhere with snow for a weekend getaway in a hurry. The camp was amazing with helping us out. The facility was warm and cozy for our troop. We made lunch, dinner, and breakfast. The scouts had a movie-night, and a few slept in igloos they had made outside. We accidentally left a shovel behind, but the camp found it and held in until I could drive up and retrieve it. Thanks so much for helping us out and everything you did to make the weekend special.

I've taken groups to Camp Koinonia in the past two years. The service and staff were consistently amazing. They supported our groups with kindness and efficiency, we had the best time! There are a variety of staffed and unstaffed activities to explore, a big wooden forest to explore, there was spacious kids playground and structured play areas. Lodging was clean, comfortable, and affordable. Onsite meals cooked by kitchen staff. It was a truly worry-free environment where everyone can relax and reconnect with nature and each other.
