The stay at the campsite was disappinting due to Scott’s actions. Last year we had zero issues with the old director Kevin. The new director this year kept giving us the run around and was lied to us. He was rude and not very good. He told our pastor you can’t check in before 4 I won’t receive you, “you’ve been here before so you don’t need to come before hand to see.” When we are spending that much money we should be able to see the layout before hand. He also stated he allowed us to come in at noon which was not true. We called him 4 times the day before and 3 times the day of with questions, no response. When we confronted him about this his response “oh what number have you been calling, I had zero missed called.” We showed him our logs. Food was not enough, it was rationed with super small portions. When we asked for more ranch or food they said no. One of our members asked for more food and his response was “go get leftovers from the other tables”. He then kicked us out before hand, stated check out was at 10 am the night before, stated it was always like that. After speaking to the other group at the camp they said checkout was always 12.30 pm and it was always like that. We were discriminated against. You guys state hospitality is important, under the new director Scott it was not even close. I was extremely disappointed. Campsite...
Read moreWe as a school have used Camp Koinonia for three years for our retreat for upper grades. We have used several camps since 2001, this is by far the best camp we have ever used. There are so many activities available for the students, we schedule archery, the challenge course, and the Escape Room every year. Our students did the sling shot activity one year and tried the ax throwing this year. We give the students free time to play basketball, volleyball, soccer, foosball, pool, 9-square, or just relax and walk around the camp. We have a few brave souls that get up and go fishing in the dark and cold of the early morning. The meals are great, the camp even provided us with smores baskets each night for the campfire. We have used three different cabin facilities, and all have been clean and in good repair as well as heated. Many have restroom facilities right in the cabins--a real plus with teenagers. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Some of our school staff even thought the camp would be a great place for an adult retreat. If you have need of a place to "retreat" to this is a wonderful camp to...
Read moreManagement was better with under Kevin I don’t understand what’s up with the new management Some folks left camp a day or two early due to the fact when It came to feeding time it was a battle field just to ask for more food they didn’t take it lightly and were denied more food from the kitchen my group were told to go and look at tables per table for other families leftovers and eat that …which is quite demeaning for moral and good ethics I was not going to take away a strangers families food considering portions we’re honestly and truly small… The pool was reserved for baptisms for our group, we didn’t perform baptisms but the pool was reserved for our group. We had three kids swimming in the pool, they were removed by the director as he was laughing. The unfortunate part is the other group that was not with us was allowed to swim during our reserved time. We respected the camps rules but the director did not respect ours.
I never leave reviews but honestly I just had to this...
