Camped here on August 28-30, 2020 on warm sunny days with my boyfriend. The campground is well-spaced between each other allowing for privacy. Our campsite was number 7 and it can fit about 3-5 tents in it which is pretty big for a campsite. I loved it. There is plenty of mosquitoes so be prepared with your repellents. Also, on our first night, a bear passed by one of our neighbor's site so make sure you clean up after yourselves and don't leave food out at night. There is also a bear cage with a trap since the bear seems to linger and wander around (although it isn't aggressive and seems friendly). There is no water and the toilet is a honey bucket. This campground needs some extra maintenance because the porta potties needed to be serviced as it was getting quite full during our stay. The lake is walking distance and provides plenty of space for everyone to splish and splash around although the water is quite cold but wonderful. There is a day use area too for picknicking and the likes. We went on a first-come first-served basis on a friday morning and there was plenty of spots to choose from, but come night time and the lot was full. There is also about 2-4 two-family campsites that can fit about 4 vehicles in and is ideal for groups and is located along the entrance of the campground. The mini grocery store is located about less than half a mile if you are needing supplies such as ice or firewood. However, be wary if there is a burn ban. Overall, great place with no reception except out...
Read moreOur family had a very disappointing and disturbing experience here. We reserved three campsites for two nights, but ended up leaving after only one because of how we were treated by the campground host. From the beginning, the host spoke down to us as if we were children. She made discriminatory and racist remarks toward us as a Hispanic family, even suggesting that others wouldn’t complain about us because they were “scared we would fight them.” That is not only untrue but deeply offensive. We were simply a family — parents, aunts, uncles, and kids — trying to enjoy nature together. There were no other campers around us, yet she demanded we “whisper” instead of using normal speaking voices. On top of that, she lingered around our campsites at night with a red light, watching us in a way that felt invasive and unsettling. Instead of feeling welcome, we felt harassed and targeted. Camping should be about peace, nature, and relaxation — but the hostility and prejudice we experienced ruined our trip. For that reason, we cut our stay short. I would not recommend Wish Poosh Campground to anyone, especially families looking for a safe and welcoming place. We left feeling disrespected and unwelcome, and that’s not what camping should...
Read moreHorrible experience. Right when we pulled up not even 5 minutes, a lady that works for the park came walking toward my car with her phone out taking photos or recording. I asked her what she was doing and she replied with taking photos of everyone that doesn’t pay the fee. Give me a few minutes to get my money and I will go pay for the fee. She didn’t even approach me with no kindness. She also implied that day use was only limited to a grocery bag of garbage (dumpsters were locked). With a full familt in a SUV will accumulate more than a grocery bag full of garbage. Left her with a kitchen size garbage bag of trash. Mind you, there were 2 broken down bbq grills next to the dumpster.
If people can’t utilize the park to the fullest with locked dumpsters, of course some people will throw their trash in the bushes. She told us that she will have to clean up the mess. Sorry lady, guess that’s your job.
My main point is, that lady was very rude. People like that shouldn’t be working with people. Mid she approached me differently with asking or reminding me to pay the fee, there wouldn’t be any hostility.
Don’t think I will be going back there while she is still...
