My husband travels weekly for work so we stay in hotels 99% of the time. We had originally had a reservation at another hotel in the same town but they refused to let us stay because we had a dog (we even offered to pay the ridiculous service animal fee). We cancelled that reservation and came to Best Western. At first we got placed in a room that was in the middle of being cleaned so when we talked to the front desk about that she apologized and placed us in a room that had already been serviced. I was surprised by how clean the rooms are being kept! Some motels that "appear" the same as this one, end up having worse rooms and I was very surprised on how clean everything was. You can tell they have been working on improvements and it is paying off. Despite this being a motel (where the rooms are accessed from the outside) the breeze ways were always very clean and mopped almost daily. Which I thought was that extra step in showing their pride in their business, and shows that they are doing their part in keeping their facilities as clean as possible. The bed sheets are extremely soft, I would say that if you want another pillow to ask front desk as they only provided 3 pillows for the king bed. Its not a big deal to me but I know for some it can be. If you do laundry just make sure to get quarters before hand because when we did ask for change we were told they did not have any. The shower has great pressure and that can be rare especially being on the 2nd floor. Never once did I see a bug or any remnants of a bug. I even pulled back the sheets to check for any signs of bed bugs and you can tell that they are very thorough in their cleaning and sanitation as there was never once a sign of bed bugs or bugs in general. Read moreI have had by far the most time of my life being the week I spent there I felt at home. Nicole a manager at front desk made me feel at home and openly took the time to make me know she was there no matter what. My keys kept defaulting or I wasn't doing it right so I'd run to Nicole and everytime I always got approached with a smile. Never once did she sigh or give me the impression I was getting on her nerves like a few others here . Nicole deserves so much more too pay even . That woman is on her A game . Very sweet very polite and always open to helping no matter what was going on she multi tasked like a pro and u wouldn't even know it . The breakfast is phenomenal and so professionally set up and taken down. The cleaning ladies are so sweet and work with u in regards to checking out and in not no come 11 get out now type. They come back if u aren't quite out . I can't thank this place for the warm welcoming stay I experienced along with the clean pool . If I could this should rate a 1000000 high end. The guest was even super nice and very polite. Read moreI and my co-workers had to stay here for a job, and I would avoid it if I were you. Overall, there were major issues with cleanliness and amenities, even though the staff was pleasant and responsive.
The first room they gave me, the door didn’t close all the way. Most of the doors are warped, especially towards the bottom, and some you can even see the outside. Additionally I saw a cockroach when I walked in.
The second room they gave me was better, but my coworkers also had issues with doors and cockroaches. One of my coworkers had two cockroaches crawl up her legs, and she took photos of some in the shower. Her second room smelled like cigarettes as well. My other co-worker mentioned seeing some potential black mold in the bathrooms.
Overall, this place seems to have gotten a recent remodel, but things don’t seem to fit quite right. For example, the carpet was not cut properly and doesn’t fit right around the doorways, which I could absolutely forgive if the cleanliness weren’t an issue.
I don’t blame the staff for most of these problems, and overall they were pleasant and got us new rooms right away when requested. However, the higher ups need to put in some serious work into this hotel if they’re going to be charging as much...
