I hate to post negative reviews, and this isn't completely negative. I was planning a special weeklong trip for Thanksgiving, and on the phone they were very pleasant. They informed me of the additional $50 "deep" cleaning fee for our pets..hahahaha. I verify that the restaurant will be open for Thanksgiving. "Oh yes! Absolutely! Our restaurant is very popular". That' where it stops..... We get checked in, and when I ask if there will be a special menu for Thanksgiving..."Oh, I'm sorry I just decided to give them the holiday off". And, don't get me wrong, I love businesses taking care of their employees. But instead of taking care of their geusts, they were busy hosting Christmas Parties. Hmmmm....someone got a good offer and kicked us to the curb. And this place is in the middle of nowhere! If this was the worst part, there would be 4 stars..... After checking in, we were MORTIFIED at the cabin. Hair and food in the fridge, dirty toilet, used sheets, I don't even want to know what it was in the shower, and an inch of mud in the carpet! When the young lady came down she was equally mortified. We changed the bed linens, and cleaned the rest ourselves while she used a broom to sweep the carpet...yep a broom! If I could have found another option we would have been gone! But, I couldn't...so the next day we bought a little shark vacuum and tried to save at least part of our trip. A good business that cares would have at least refunded the cleaning deposit. When I asked the gentleman when we were leaving, he just laughed about it. "Oh yeah, we've been having a hard time keeping housekeepers". Not My Problem! I hope we just hit a bad week, because it could be a nice place. But we will never go back....they have all the money they will ever get out of us. FYI...stay in #5 it will be the cleanest one...

Where do I start? From the second we walked in we were met with a friendly down home but upscale environment. Staff was so helpful and informative. Interesting historical facts and collections of random country artifacts. Rooms where sweet but definitely worth getting a cabin if available. Direct TV, awesome cooling in the cabins. Definitely a comfortable stay. Amazing cedar scent every where.

It is a must to visit the bar/restaurant in main building of the resort. Awesome king crab and the Salmon and steak is a sure fire guaranteed choice . As far as signature drinks, the Holy Water is recommended. Live music was relaxed yet up building with classic rock music, with many up coming events and awarded musicians. Family environment, beautiful patio area as well. The rustic log cabin style resort was decorated with local wood . Which added to the overall relaxation factor which made this stay away from home, more relaxing than being home. I did not do research before booking my stay at the Bear INN 🐻, so arriving I was overwhelmed with surprise. Check out the website and look at the pics and you can plan exactly what you want. Themed rooms or relaxing cabins. This was better than any hotel I've ever been to and it honestly made my weekend. Don't not miss out on this hidden gem tucked away. Book a hunting party, a group to take your boat in the river and come relax and unwind in one of the best environments I've been in in...

We had a 2 night stay and we were VERY disappointed. We opened the door to see carpet that was filthy with a trail through the room. (We would not walk in there without socks or flip flops.) The bed looked as it someone had been laying on it. The water pressure was almost none. The shower water pressure was just a trickle, literally. I took pictures and video. At times the toilet didn't have enough pressure to flush. The room was extremely dark even with every light on. We had television but no wifi for phone service. Every counter top in the place, nightstand, table and chairs were sticky. Needless to say we were horrified and would NEVER stay there again. We would not recommend this place to stay over night. We were told that the Restaurant food is good, but wouldn't know. We had hoped to have breakfast there, but the restaurant is only open Thurs, Fri, & Sat nights at 5:00PM til 9:00. We have never stayed anywhere so disgusting. A friend has given me the phone number of the Hotel/Motel association to file an official complaint. I will notify them of this experience. Good luck to you if you decide to give it a try. ...

I can't speak highly enough of the Bear Inn. This was my first experience staying in a cabin and I was very concerned, I'm a beach person. All I could think of was a dark cold cabin in the woods. But, what I found was the most delightful, clean, and coziest place I've ever been. I immediately feel in love with my cabin. It came with all the amenities you expect from a hotel room and you get a front porch with rocking chairs. The entire retreat is so inviting and makes want to never leave. Whenever I find myself in Clifton Tn. this will be my go place. I have already recommended the Bear Inn to anyone that will listen. Melissa and Scott are great and will go above and beyond to make this an awesome experience for you.

Awesome stay here. Mrs Susan was amazing to us. We stayed for a week in the honeymoon sweet it was roomy king bed and a twin bed fridge recliner tv direct tv microwave nice spacious bathroom. Water pressure was amazing nice and hot. Plates coffee sugar half and half silverware provided if you ask for it. Got to see the cabins that are super nice also and spacious cute and clean. Loved our stay and defiantly will be back next year! They also have a restaurant upstairs. Food is amazing service is awesome and the drinks were amazing. We even got to spend some time with the manager and play pool on Christmas that super awesome ! Pet friendly place also.
