Festival Campgrounds — Hotel in Coachella

I hesitate to write this review as I want to keep Rancho 51 the best kept secret in all of Indio! When I say I was in a desert oasis, I mean it. They have options from camping to glamping and everyone has access to the awesome and much needed pool area, make up artists, masseuse, and a little something extra wink wink. They kept us hydrated with unlimited complimentary electrolyte water and liquid IV. With the simple dial of a phone, a Cadillac Escalade arrives to pick you up and drop you off at the festival. Entering the Rancho 51 compound felt like entering through the gates of Jurassic Park, once you’re in it’s a new world, and it’s safe with security 24/7. I never had to worry about leaving my car unlocked or leaving belongings in my tent. I will admit my car battery died while I was there and the owner himself gave me a jump! Every day I woke up at my leisure and rolled myself over to the pool to relax, hydrate, swim, and groove to the live DJ. Then it was off to the clean showers and bathrooms and full-length mirrors to get the fit just right. Elevate your look with the glam team who is ready to receive you all morning and afternoon! Hungry? There is always a truck to feed you (for very reasonable purchase). The taco truck was a lifesaver after a full day at the festival and the raspado truck gave me life on those hot desert afternoons. By the end of the weekend, you will have a new little family of owners, staff, and campers. My words don’t do enough justice to Rancho 51, you have to experience it for yourself! Stayed here for Coachella W1 and it has pros/cons.

Pros:

1. great option if you are in a last minute bind for housing for Coachella
2. staff is nice
3. great late night taco stand
4. fun onsite services (not included) like hair and massages
5. nice Pool area to relax
6. free dates from the date trees on site

Cons:

1. we were abandoned by the shuttle service (Mario) on the first night calling him and texting him multiple times that my friend was sick. He told us it would arrive in 10 minutes and we waited an hour in the cold. Had to end up calling an Uber and spending $90 in addition to the expensive shuttle fee.
2. towels were not included and were an extra charge
3. the tents were not properly ventilated so you would overheat in the mornings
4. no outlets in the tents so you need to leave devices outside to charge
5. the showers were disgusting, smelled horrible, clogged, and filled with hair

Overall given the amount we paid, it was not worth the value. Try to reserve somewhere...

This place is amazing to stay if going to a festival nearby! Just recently stayed here for Coachella 2023. First time going to this festival and staying here made the trip 100x better. Definitely take advantage of the shuttle this place provides. The bathroom and restroom are clean. A huge plus is that there’s never a long line or waiting time to use either of them.
