Stayed here while working in the state of Oklahoma. They told us upon checking in that if we paid by the week it would be no problem if we left early just come to the front desk for a refund. They also had a sign in the office that states this (don't know if its still there) We stayed for about 3 weeks and then when we went to leave the manager got mad because she didn't feel like coming to give us a refund and asked us to wait until the next day. We told we had to get on the road that night and reminded her that we had this conversation upon check in. She got extremely rude with my husband but did give the refund. I called her the next day and told her i didn't appreciate her rudeness and i also reported her behavior to the chain. OTHER THAN THAT it was an ok stay, however DO NOT leave anything of value in your room as i personally have seen employees allow their friends to come and go out of the rooms while they are being cleaned. A guy staying a few doors down said he had over $300 stolen from his room as well as some personal belongings. His room was one of the ones i saw people going in. I told him that and he reported it to the front desk... Nothing was done about it, the next day people who were NOT employees were still going in and out...
Read moreMy sister and her husband were driving home from visiting family in southwest Arkansas. Not being from the area, they were caught off guard by a tornado warning while passing through Coalgate.
Around midnight, with tornado sirens blaring and an active warning in effect, they pulled into the only open business in town for safety.
They stopped at the hotel and tried to enter the lobby, but it was locked. A few minutes later, an older woman, likely in her sixties, arrived, unlocked the door, and went inside. My sister, her baby, and her husband remained in their truck right outside the entrance, hoping to wait out the storm. I was on the phone with them, watching the radar, and saw clear rotation heading directly over their location.
The woman eventually came outside and asked if they had a room. When they explained they were sheltering from the tornado warning, she responded with a dismissive "uh uh, uh uh, uh uh" while shaking her head. She told them they needed to get a room or leave. At that point, the storm rotation was only minutes...
Read morePros: Cheapest place to stay in the area, management was friendly when we spoke at check-in & check-out. Cons: There was blood smeared on our bathroom wall when we arrived, the carpets are gross and I would recommend wearing shoes or socks indoors due to that, the beds are VERY firm and while that felt great on my back I know that most people (my spouse included) do not appreciate that, the A/C does not cool properly (we’re from South TX so we know it can be hot, but the units are not up to par for cooling), our non-smoking unit smelled strongly like marijuana, the area outside can get pretty loud at night and the walls are paper-thin, and at one point we walked into our unit to find that while we were away employees had been inside our room even though we had our Do Not Disturb sign on the door requesting no service (thankfully nothing was stolen like other reviewers have said happened to them, but clearly privacy violations don’t really matter to the workers here, so be mindful of what is in your room if...
