I made a mistake and reserved a cabin for 5/7-5/9/24 before realizing there would be no horse rides or restaurant. I contacted Krystal 3 days after making reservation and asked to cancel as there were no food services and Cody is a 30 minute drive. She went straight to “you pushed the confirm button” so no I won’t cancel the reservation and I won’t cancel one night holding me to a 30 day rule even tho I booked 8 days earlier. There was no one else at the ranch (the reason we were not allowed to cancel) never greeted by staff, office closed. Saw one man with the horses, asked if I could give them carrots but he ignored us too. My husband was furious about this and how much he paid…”for nothing” “to be ignored” Our cabin was beautiful but we cannot recommend Rand Creek Ranch because a) it provided no services b) provided no way to communicate with staff in the event of an emergency or to ask questions/get references c) we were alone, no fellow travelers, no staff to talk to. I cannot imagine why Krystal insisted we stay when the ranch was empty and scary. Absolutely nothing to do, we had to spend most of our time in Cody. I refused to let this ruin our vacation but it was uncomfortable and isolating and overpriced considering the lack of services. Thank goodness we found trail rides a few miles away and...

We enjoyed our stay at Rand Creek Ranch. The photos just do not do this place justice, the views are spectacular. The cabins are cozy and give you a genuine Western feel. They are clean and comfortable. The front porch has plenty of seating, so sit out and gaze at the mountains or stars. Our favorite was the evening bonfire, it was fun to watch the sun set and watch the kids play around the campfire. This is not meant to be negative, but as an FYI they do not provide the breakfast that many reviews raved on. I wish we would have known, as I had four hungry kids and no breakfast the first morning. All other hotels served breakfast on our trip in WY, so this was odd to us. They also do not provide a hair dryer or toaster. However, this had little to no effect on our time in Cody, the weather is great, the location is about an hour from sights in Yellowstone and definitely beats the congestion of staying in the park! Cody is about 20 minutes away, so an easy drive if you need anything. I recommend the horse ride at the ranch, the wrangles were very kind and patient. The rodeo, the dam and Old Town are definitely worth stopping for. It’s a great place, we highly...

NO AC. Slow < 1 Mbps wifi up and down. No ice. Half bars on ATT (no 4/5g at time of review) (KEEP READING......this is not meant to deter you). Just wanted that up front and center so everyone sees this before I start the review. Can be a deal breaker for many in this modern world. I about **** when I arrived in 90+ degree weather and there was no AC :). They do provide fans, and it cools down immensely at night. Great location. (Close to Yellowstone) Great views. Stables and trail rides. (1 hour and 2 hour). 2 hour goes a bit higher elevation through foot hills, etc with better views. Fishing, fire pit, BBQ. Morning breakfast basket with baked goods and OJ. Very clean. Incredible hospitality. Larger sized mini fridge. Small microwave. No cooking (forbidden) in cabins other than heating stuff in microwave. If you look at the price vs the accomodations it seems pricey. However, you are paying for the ambiance, location, amenities, and the overall experience. No question at all you should choose this experience over the higher priced hotel/motel options in Cody. It is a family owned business. If you value the American individual entrepreneur, this is the place to patronize. Very cool experience.

We traveled to Rand Creek Ranch just for a 2 hour horseback ride. It was absolutely a game changer for me and my wife. We absolutely loved it! Gavin did an incredible job. He was so down to earth and hospitable in every way. He answered all of questions and told us all he knew about the area as well as Wyoming in general. You could tell that he loved his job. He had grown up on horses and so he was truly a guide with knowledge and experience. We loved the great views from the top of the trail. I highly recommend that if you are a novice, take the 2 hour and not the 1 hour trip. Probably the 1 hour if you have small children. I will recommend Rand Creek to everyone I can and if we return to the area we will definitely do this again!

Take a trail ride up one of the most amazing views of the Wall in Wapiti. Our trail guide was on point in making sure that everyone was comfortable, even the guy that almost dumped himself and Deets into the first creek crossing...wont mention any names as to who that was (cough "me"), made sure 1st time riders (again caugh..me) were well but quickly and strictly educated on the dos and donts of riding. She also educated us on the landscape and history of the terrain. Affordable, hospitable, and on point with everything.
