I made a mistake and reserved a cabin for 5/7-5/9/24 before realizing there would be no horse rides or restaurant. I contacted Krystal 3 days after making reservation and asked to cancel as there were no food services and Cody is a 30 minute drive. She went straight to “you pushed the confirm button” so no I won’t cancel the reservation and I won’t cancel one night holding me to a 30 day rule even tho I booked 8 days earlier. There was no one else at the ranch (the reason we were not allowed to cancel) never greeted by staff, office closed. Saw one man with the horses, asked if I could give them carrots but he ignored us too. My husband was furious about this and how much he paid…”for nothing” “to be ignored” Our cabin was beautiful but we cannot recommend Rand Creek Ranch because a) it provided no services b) provided no way to communicate with staff in the event of an emergency or to ask questions/get references c) we were alone, no fellow travelers, no staff to talk to. I cannot imagine why Krystal insisted we stay when the ranch was empty and scary. Absolutely nothing to do, we had to spend most of our time in Cody. I refused to let this ruin our vacation but it was uncomfortable and isolating and overpriced considering the lack of services. Thank goodness we found trail rides a few miles away and...

They are clean and comfortable. The front porch has plenty of seating, so sit out and gaze at the mountains or stars. Our favorite was the evening bonfire, it was fun to watch the sun set and watch the kids play around the campfire. This is not meant to be negative, but as an FYI they do not provide the breakfast that many reviews raved on. I wish we would have known, as I had four hungry kids and no breakfast the first morning. All other hotels served breakfast on our trip in WY, so this was odd to us. They also do not provide a hair dryer or toaster. However, this had little to no effect on our time in Cody, the weather is great, the location is about an hour from sights in Yellowstone and definitely beats the congestion of staying in the park! Cody is about 20 minutes away, so an easy drive if you need anything. I recommend the horse ride at the ranch, the wrangles were very kind and patient. The rodeo, the dam and Old Town are definitely worth stopping for. It’s a great place, we highly...
