Amazing and unforgettable! I'm so glad we chose the Windmill Inn for our first real bed and breakfast experience! Amazing and unforgettable are the words to describe everything about it. All three rooms (we booked them all) have private bathrooms and were very comfortable, spacious, and well-decorated. The views from every room and everywhere on the property are unforgettable! Our first of two nights there, Rod lit the fire pit for us to enjoy under the amazing starry sky. We also enjoyed use of the pool table and big-screen TV in the family room. Suzie's breakfasts were outstanding! We had a yummy breakfast quiche the first morning and an equally delicious Eggs Benedict the second morning. Rod loaned us one of his spotting scopes to use in Yellowstone, and our last morning there he found a herd of elk near his property that we were able to watch for a while before we checked out. Thank you so much Rod and Suzie for an amazing and unforgettable experience! We hope we can come back some other year!

We stayed at Windmill Inn in Wapiti and honestly didn't know what to expect. Travelling by pickup truck from Ohio to Wyoming - we were a little scared and placed faith in the prior reviews. We were extremely happy with what we found. Rod and Susie are excellent hosts and the location is simply awesome. We stayed in the Cabin, separated from the main house. You are 20 minutes to Cody - which has great shopping, museum, food, rodeo and anything else you can think of. To the west, about 30 minutes is Yellowstone. Breakfast was awesome, Rod gave great tips for the area and what to see, when. Breakfast was always hot and ready and they even made "To Go" meals for us when we had to leave early in the AM. It was simply a beautiful vacation, made better by the Windmill Inn and Rod and Susie. If you're going to Yellowstone, this is the place to stay.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at The Windmill Inn after my year and a half of my wanting to go there. I had my heart set on it and we finally made it happen. The Inn did not disappoint and neither did the owners, Rod & Suzie. Both were so kind and welcoming. And, full of knowledge and suggestions about the area. We love to fish and found some really amazing spots. Yellowstone wasn't on our original plan for lack of time but we made that happen too and the sites are priceless. Though, most of all was the peace and serenity of The Windmill Inn. We ended up extending our stay two nights and skipped going anywhere else for our vacation - with no regrets! I can't wait to go back (and have Suzie's breakfast and Rod's coffee!). Thank you both so much!

I have not actually stayed at the Windmill Inn but I met the owner, Rod, in a most unusual way and he was so kind, generous, and helpful that I wanted to let those considering staying at the Inn know that you will have an amazing and generous host, as well as one with a great sense of humor who tells good stories. I met Rod when I was preparing to take a solo kayak trip down the Shoshone River in a rubber ducky I rented while on vacation. Rod was taking a local friend and her visitors down in a raft. He offered for me to follow along. The river was much faster and rougher than I thought it would be when opting to go solo, and being able to follow Rod made the difference between having a very fun and safe time and being too scared to enjoy myself. Rod knew the river and was careful to give me a heads up about which side to take before each rapid that was a bit rough. He and his whole group were so kind and welcoming and fun. Rod made a day that might have turned out badly for me into a wonderful experience. I'm sure his hosting is every bit as good as his raft guiding! I met his wife when she came to pick him up after the trip, and she seems like a wonderful person, too. Thank you Rod...

Rod and Suzie welcomed us into their beautiful home and provided the most warm hospitality with our stay! The accommodations were clean, neat, and everything about the Wapiti room was spot on including the huge newly remodeled bathroom. The breakfast was awesome; the atmosphere was pleasant; and the views of the mountains were amazing while sitting on the deck drinking coffee around the fire pit. Rod was very knowledgeable and helpful in providing tips about traveling through Yellowstone. “Bo” the dog and “B.C.” the cat were also great companions during our stay. The location is a close drive to Cody and there is plenty to see and do in the area. They have definitely been blessed with a sincere gift of making their guest feel welcome and at home. We are thankful for folks like them who take pride in providing people like us a place to stay while on vacation so far from home. We had a great time, and we couldn’t have ask for anything more. We can’t wait to go back hopefully sooner...
