First impression, I was excited, we were on an impromptu 18th anniversary without a real plan. While traveling I was trying to reserve a room online this was impossible as I was trying to book two nights and it would default back to one night. So I waited and walked in to see if they had rooms available. The front desk attendant told me she only had one room available for one night only….we didn’t reserve ahead of arrival so I couldn’t be to upset. But when I mentioned going elsewhere they happened to find another room available for our second night and we would have to move rooms for our second day, again I can’t be upset because I’m last minute so I was appreciative of her determination to keep us there. I’ll start with the rooms- First night was in a king Lakeview room, it was okay bed was comfortable and the view was okay but I would say fairly outdated and was difficult to plug in electronics as they only had one usb port, no blow dryer, no iron or ironing board and the couch they put in there is so uncomfortable unless you were the only one on it! Not worth the $500+ a night they charge. Second night was in the lake view tower, and needless to say there was absolutely no lake view and no better then any other average budget hotel, in fact I have stayed in much nicer budget friendly hotels. You win some and lose some right? First world problems, but for the price the economy rooms should be much more affordable. Dining - Subpar to say the least we first went to whispers the 21+ restaurant, they barely had a menu worth staying for so we ordered a drink (waited 30min to get 1 drink) and asked about other dining within the resort they only mentioned dock side and others that were in the shops. So we went to dockside they were not busy but we still had to wait and the menu was basically the same as whispers. Not once were we told about the restaurant on the 7th floor. We finally heard about it from other people staying at the resort, however it was about 8pm the night before we were leaving. So we ended up eating at the dockside twice the first time took about 2.5 hrs and the service was horrible in the time my husbands soda and my water were only filled up once and my steak was a big slab of fat. The second time we ate the salad bar and our server was more attentive (but we had the salad bar) The bar on the boardwalk - I’ll just say that the guy working it all weekend hates his job there, he was not friendly and made it apparent that he was having a horrible day and hated being busy on the weekends. When I paid for our drinks I gave a $4 tip, I watched as he did not count the $$ and just stuck in it in the register, I let him k ow there was extra there for him and his response was “ ya, I could really care less right now” how rude! Then the icing on the cake…. I asked if there was a pool, the employee sent me to the indoor pool next the fitness center, when I went to check it out it was less then inviting, hot, muggy and full of kids (I’m on an adult trip) expecting a pool with a bar close at a resort does not seem like a big ask. Well to out surprise on our last night during our dinner cruise we learned that there is in fact an outdoor infinity pool, you just have to take a shuttle to. I would have done that with my last day trying to relax before heading home but instead we sat in our economy room until our dinner cruise, instead of enjoying the rest of what was supposed to be offered. To sum it up, I do not think I would pay to stay here again nor will I be recommending this hotel I will go to the one lakeside. The staff is responsible for letting you know all the resort has to offer and making it a memorable experience (literally there 1 job) and they failed horribly. I feel like I missed out on the two best things the resort had to offer. I have stayed at a lot of resorts and this may top the list of least favorite. After reading other reviews we’ll see if I get a response back other than the generic one telling me to reach out. Keep...

Overpromise and under deliver is how I would summarize our trip. Starting with making the reservation 9 months ago. We wanted our trip to be special and I was discussing all the rooms with the guy, I ended up going with the most expensive lake view room outside of the penthouse suite (or so I thought). Fast forward to the day before checkin, we are packing and called to see if they had any beds for toddlers. They said they would put a rollaway bed in our room. The day of checkin I called and asked if we get there around 1pm is there a chance our room would be ready or should we just wait until 4? They made it sound like it was a pretty good chance of being ready early. We got there at 1 and saw a few people checking in so we were excited. Went to the front desk and asked to check in. With disgust the receptionist said “we have your number, we will txt you when it’s ready”. We then wandered around the city for 2 and a half hours killing time. Come back around 3:30 and I went to a different receptionist (even though the grumpy one was available). I said “we never got a txt, but just wanted to see if the room is ready” he said it wasn’t. We went back to the car and grabbed our luggage and were waiting in the lobby for 4 (nothing else to do at this point). 3:40 someone walks up to the same guy and he gets them checked in. 5 minutes later another person walks up to the guy and he gets them checked in. Keep in mind we are literally right in front of him with our luggage waiting for the txt. Another person is with him and so I go to a third receptionist and she says our room is ready…never got a txt. It’s now 3:55pm wipee…she says our room is on the first floor. I thought there is no way, went and looked at the room first though to be sure. Came back and explained we got a lake view etc. she said that is considered a lake view (to be fair you can see the lake through the hundreds of boats, technically not a lie). I asked if there was anything else higher and she said other customers requested higher rooms (apparently everyone staying here knew you can just pick which floor and room you want but us) and every person is hard coded to a room. Nothing she could do but just say “I’m sorry”. The rollaway bed was not in the room so we asked her for it. They bring an air mattress, we go back out and ask if they have rollaway bed. They said they would send it. 6pm we call back asking for rollaway bed and are told they are busy. 8:30pm I told them to cancel the request he’s already asleep. We went the entire trip without a rollaway bed (we could have packed our travel bed had they told us). The room was extremely outdated, the bathtub needs to be replaced, the tile on the balcony was completely torn up. Everyone from the higher floors were dropping crap onto our balcony. My 3 year old was playing with a used cigar, luckily we saw him grab it right away. We find out on our last day that there are boats that take you to a private beach and pool (after it was too late for us to use). One of the worst overall travel experiences I’ve had in my life. Oh and the room was over $725 a night with...

I will try to be as fair and concise in this review as possible. When we first arrived to the room, the elevator that went to our portion of the resort was broken so we had to take the long way around in order to avoid taking our luggage upstairs. In order to get to our room we had to go outside, but this was advertised for the room so we were aware of that. The rest of our stay we would just walk down two flights of stairs to the front entrance of the resort instead of having to trudge through the entire resort as getting to her room was very non-convenient with a broken down elevator. Also, if others as stated the $20 a day mandatory parking was not appreciated. It took quite a while to get to your car and leave the resort and even though this was down season, the parking garage was quite busy every day. The heater was not working when we arrive so we called to advise the front desk within 20 minutes. Someone came up and they got the heater working. It never really got up to temperature but at least it was kicking on. For this to be a resort setting I felt like the rooms could’ve been much cleaner and there could’ve been much better attention to detail. We were definitely here during the off-season so many of the things that are probably usually busier available or closed. For instance, the outdoor patio on the terrace was close so we could not sit out there and have drinks. There was a lot of construction going on, so it was difficult to walk around in Resort as well. Again, I’m sure do to this being off season. Overall, the location was very nice but I think next time we will choose a different place to stay. We have stayed at many resorts in many different towns, and this one just did not live up to our expectations. The pool and hot tub area was under impressive. The spa was very nice! I have not added many images of the resort at sell for the spa as others have done that however, I am posting specific images of the room that I felt were completely unacceptable for a “resort”. We also found a wallet up crusty wash cloth behind where the TV was. I can only assume what was on that wash cloth but again simple attention to detail could’ve taken care of the these matters. Made us question the overall cleanliness of the room itself. When they don’t pay attention to details like this, then chances are the room is not very clean! Very disappointing! Thankfully I brought Lysol wipes and wiped all important surfaces down quickly after arrival. They’re also was no microwave in the room, but upon request one was brought down quickly. Also, there was a small coffee maker, which was nice for a cup of coffee first thing in...
