I do not know where to start. Seriously. This is our THIRD time staying at the Walnut Canyon Cabins, and we are already planning our fourth.

Carl and Rhonda are some of the most down to earth, profession, enjoyable, freaking awesome people to be around, and their cabins most certainly follow the trend!

We have stayed in three of their cabins so far, and it is seriously hard to say which one is our favorite .... but we do know that Carl and Rhonda are some of our favorite people!

We go down to Fredericksburg frequently, and when we go, we are staying at the Walnut Canyon Cabins without a doubt. Shoot, if we go anywhere within a couple hours of Fredericksburg we're going to stay there too hahaha!

Starting with the cabins, every single time we've walked in, they have been immaculate! They are all exceptionally clean, very well laid out, and they are all very welcoming!! All amenities are there, from toiletries (such as soap, shampoo, robes, towels, and PREMIUM TOILET PAPER!!), to cookware with seasoning and all pots, pans, skillets, trays, sprays and everything, to the bedroom, where the beds, sheets, and pillows are actually comfortable!!

The restrooms are spotless, the floors are clean enough to eat off of, for a clean freak, I have found no faults!

The property is absolutely amazing! Everything is well set, there are chickens and cows you can feed should you wish (should also note, there is no cow smell to be sniffed!!) and it makes for a very relaxed environment.

For breakfast, or whichever meal you prefer, they provide fresh eggs, smoked meat, fruits, biscuits, local coffee, and even jellies and honey! Coupled with the well stocked kitchen, you're able to prepare everything as you prefer.

The views from all cabins are exceptional, and it really lets you relax and breathe! Rhonda and Carl also provide a large bag full of deer corn that you can throw off the back porch, and there will be deer all over the place. We counted up to 10 last night! They will almost walk right up to the porch, and don't even seen to be frightened by movement, so you can also have little kiddos running around without worrying about them scaring them off.

We are certain we are leaving some stuff out, just go ahead and book a stay, and see what it's about.

Thank you again Carl and Rhonda, we can't tell you how much we enjoy your property with...

I am editing my review now about 4 months later -

We just got back from another visit at the wonderful Walnut Canyon Cabins and we just adore this place ❤️ … we stayed in the Rocky Top cabin (our first time in this cabin) - and we were able to bring our little dog 🐶

The view from this cabin, like the others, is just beautiful- and the space is generous … we were with another couple )it’s a two bedroom) and it was no issue at all!

Carl and Ronda generously provided breakfast foods for four adults ready for our arrival and it was all delicious as always 😁

We loved being able to take our pup with us into town - very pet friendly areas!

Feeding the deer and cows is always fun and pup loved it - but the hospitality is fantastic- it’s becoming a home away from home for us - we will be back.

This is my original review: If you want a great vacation spot - this is it! Go no further! What a great find Walnut Canyon Cabins are - and I’m so glad we found them we can’t wait to go back. We stayed in the The Tree House and The Hideaway Cabins - it’s hard to pick a favorite - they both have stunning views and are great cabins in their own ways. Feeding the deer every morning and evening was a treat and the cows and chickens :-) 🦌 🐄 🐓 … having fresh local food in the fridge when we arrived was hospitality above and beyond anything we expected, but absolutely loved! Our hosts Carl and Rhonda are the kindest people in Fredericksburg, I think - they did everything to make sure our stay was enjoyable - and it most...

I stayed here at the Milky Way cabin in late January before the pandemic started and this was one of the most relaxing trips I've had. Carl and Rhonda immediately make you feel at home when you check in, and the cabin itself was immaculate. We had severe fog/rain on our only full day at the cabin but we didn't even care that much because it was so comfortable inside. I have never slept in a bed as comfortable as the one here, and the electric fireplace in winter was amazing. The cabin is very insulated. I couldn't even hear the rain while inside and my phone was disconnected from data (not a complaint since I wanted to relax and could easily step outside or on the balcony for internet).

Biscuits, fresh fruit, eggs and bacon were provided for the stay. It's not that far a drive from Fredericksburg if you want to get dinner in town but be careful if you're not used to dark roads at night since the cabins are isolated - also tons of deer and the first time I've seen a wild hog in Texas. The skies did clear up enough later at night that we could take advantage of the jacuzzi, which felt surreal being able to relax in modern comforts under a completely clear starry sky. One of the best accommodations I've had and I will definitely...

EVERYTHING about this place was sooooo AMAZING!!! I can’t say enough of how wonderful our stay was here. From how amazing the inside of our cabin was to the outside areas and the gorgeous view from our outdoor patio was PERFECT!! On-site too was a bbq pit and charcoal and a picnic bench. We even got to feed the cows AND we were provided a bag of deer corn to feed the deer as well!! We also were blessed with an amazing breakfast that came with freshly stocked farm fresh eggs, fresh fruit, biscuits, and a nice size package of Opa’s Canadian bacon directly from the shop themselves! I can go on forever and every need was met during our stay here. I want to say a very special thank you to both the owners Carl and Rhonda for making this all happen when I was facing crucial timing trying to find a place for our yearly anniversary. They are the most sweetest people we met and they both made me and my wife feel like home and family with their generous hospitality. I severely highly recommend staying here for whatever occasions you have as you SURELY will not be disappointed!! We will be coming back indeed most definitely!!! 10 STARS!!

Absolutely loved our two night stay at the Siesta cabin during the 4th of July weekend. Wife and son and I had a great time meeting Carl and Rhonda. They are super kind people that help you out with anything at all. The cabin was very nice with stocked fridge of breakfast goodies and full kitchen supplies. A nice front and back patio and rooftop patio as well for great night sky views. Strong AC unit during the hot days was nice. Close to Bankersmith Saloon and Alamo Spring Cafe. This place is a nice getaway from traffic and city life. It's quite and peaceful. Animals onsite include cattle, deer, and chickens. My son loved it. WiFi is almost non-existent here unless your near or inside the home of Carl and Rhonda and you ask for the password. They allowed me to do exactly that when I needed to download some tickets.
