I left a review already but to ensure that this gets across, I'll leave one again. When I arrived at the hotel to check in I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman. He didn't take long to get me checked in. When I got to my room I could immediately smell that there was something wet in the room. The bathroom had we towels on the floor, The bed was a mess, the floor was dirty and there was someone else's belongings on the dresser. Either someone was still in the room or it had not been cleaned yet. No big deal. I went back down stairs and let the gentleman know that my room was clearly not ready yet. After a few minutes of looking on his computer he decided to upgrade my room, at no cost to me, for the inconvenience. I gladly accepted and went to my MUCH cleaner room. After unpacking and settling in I grabbed the iron to get my clothes ready for the next day. It was not working. I turned on the lamp next to the phone so I could see the number to call, the lamp did not work, I used my phone flashlight to read the numbers on the phone and picked it up to call the front desk, the phone did not work. I remembered getting a text number in case I needed anything so I texted that and let whoever was on the other end the issues I was having and I was reassured they problems would be taken care of immediately. I never heard back. By this time I was exhausted from traveling all day and decided I would worry about it in the morning. The next morning as I was getting ready for work, I received a call on my cell phone from Willy at the front desk asking how I got in to the room I was in. I explained the situation and was promptly told I need to pack up my things and vacate the room immediately since it had already been reserved by someone else. I asked where I would be moving to and was told that there wasn't a room ready and I would have to wait. I explained that I needed to get ready for work and was promptly reminded to move out of the room. I scrambled to pack up my things so the next person did not have to wait too long to be in their room. I was met at the door by a gentleman who was very non apologetic about the inconvenience and seemed like he was upset with me about the situation. He found a room that the staff was currently cleaning and said to put my stuff in there and I could wait for it to be cleaned. I did just that and went to the lobby to wait. After some consideration, I asked if there was any sort of compensation for the inconvenience of having to scramble to pack my things and move out of the room I had settled in. His response was instantly defensive and rude. He remarked that I was already upgraded a room for the night for no reason and that I should be grateful for that. I then explaind the situation during my arrival and he said that I had no proof that my original room was dirty and that I probably lied to get a free upgrade. I told him I didn't ask for an upgrade, just a clean room. He then sarcastically apologized that my "life was so rough" and repeatedly told me that moving rooms is not an inconvenience to anyone but me. He was being rude enough that I had to walk away. After a few minutes I went back to the desk and asked the other gentleman if he could check to see if my new room was ready so I could finish getting ready for work. Willy came rushing up from somewhere in the back and began saying things like "why aren't you at work?, I thought you had to go to work. Shouldn't you have left already?" and I again, had to walk away. I was finally let in my new room, I got ready for work and left. I did not speak to him again for the rest of my stay. Everyone else I dealt with was very friendly but I can honestly say that this was the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. I've stayed at La Quinta hotels before but this...
Read moreI was really hoping to write a very positive review about this location, but unfortunately, I feel like it leans more negative. After looking at the overall rating and photos online, we were very optimistic about the place. We wanted this one as it was within 15 minutes of a place we were visiting. Upon check-in, we noticed that it was right off the interstate, had few parking spaces in the front and then some in the back (however, it looked extremely dark in the lot behind the building). Not a big deal. I went to check in, and the hotel lobby wasn't at all what I saw online (in fact, some of the photos were either old and/or AI-generated as they looked nothing like the actual structure of the lobby). The hotel smelled heavily of marijuana and the pool smell penetrated everywhere on the first floor; however, the front desk staff was nice and even asked which floor I would prefer.
There were quite a few options for snacks and drinks in the lobby and in the hallway in a vending machine, which was great; their ice machine worked; and the pool and hot tub looked clean and felt warm (we never got in though). They allowed pets, which was a perk; however, if it's not a service animal, they charge you $20 extra for your pet to stay. Bear that in mind. The hotel inside was... okay. Nothing fancy but nothing too terrible that stood out. The doors to the rooms needed a desperate makeover as they looked pretty yellow. The room were pretty basic and overall were okay; however, there was a piece missing out of the bathroom vanity, the floors probably could've used a shampoo, and the bedspreads had stains. The gym/fitness room no longer exists as it was a storage room for their cleaning supplies (if you look at the directional sign, it is the one covered with the paper). Upon wandering around the property a bit more and noticing small things here and there (and feeling a bit unsafe) and seeing police officers respond to something next door at the Super 8 (though I can't say what happened), we decided it would be best for my nephew if we found somewhere else to stay. Bear in mind that we did check in around 10pm; I can't say if it would make a difference checking in earlier. I also was a little concerned that my car might be broken into as it's only a year old and most of the vehicles in the lot looked a bit older - mine definitely stood out. Upon packing our items back in the car, there were two people in their vehicle that kept staring us down and one gentleman walking by that gave us a pretty dirty (and dare I say menacing?) look, so I was comfortable with leaving the property. When I went to talk to the front desk staff (this was at 11pm by this time) about leaving, I let her know we didn't feel safe with having my nephew there and how to go about getting a refund. While she was in her pajamas, she was pleasant and let me know she'd have to call her manager as she didn't know how to do that. Not an issue. After waiting, she said they could refund almost the entire room rate since we had already checked in, so I agreed. Super nice of them as their policy is normally that they can't refund the amount after you've checked in. Additionally, the front desk let me know that breakfast was from 6-9am; I cannot speak to the quality of the breakfast as we obviously did not stay. If I was by myself, I likely would've still stayed as I don't consider myself very high maintenance. Fairly decent value but you definitely get what you pay for. Overall, this wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed, but it's definitely...
Read moreWe booked a four night stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Henderson-Northeast Denver from the 9th through the 13th of May, 2023. We stayed at this property a few years ago and found it to be clean, quiet, and comfortable.
Unfortunately, under the new management, none of that is true. Some of the issues we experienced include:
• The handle on the closet was missing so we couldn't use it • there was rust around the drain in the shower • the caulk on the floor around the bathtub was rough and discolored • the toilet made a very loud whistling noise every time it was flushed (the first time I thought a fire alarm had gone off) • the window overlooking the parking lot had no shear curtains, only the blackout blind • we found three insects, one in the bathroom and two in the bedroom which the manager claimed were not bedbugs • the cleaning staff across the hall from our room were loudly talking, laughing, and yelling early in the mornings • an alarm just outside our door chirped every 20 to 30 seconds day and night • The refrigerator made a loud grinding noise every time it turned on • trim pieces missing from the walls • the last evening, the noise from the pool next door continued until midnight and we were told that the pool was open for "adult time" until midnight • the last evening and the morning we left, we had no hot water so we couldn't shower before departing
We brought these issues to the attention of the owner's son on the first morning and were told that he'd get back to us. That's the last we saw or heard from him. When we finally were able to talk to an individual who identified himself as the "owner" he responded that the noise wasn't that bad, called us liars, blamed us for not requesting a different room, lied about their responses, and claimed that our room was scheduled for remodeling (after we left).
On the first morning, we requested a refund of the balance of the charges for the room and that was refused. Instead, we were offered a 5% discount on a $418.52 bill. Upon checking out, the total bill was still $418.52 and the owner insisted that a 5% discount had been applied. Upon reviewing the detailed invoice, we discovered that a credit for $19.98 had been applied and then immediately charged back to the account. So we didn't even receive the promised discount.
We submitted this information to Wyndham Hotels & Resorts including pictures of some of the issues and demanded a refund of 50% of the charges for the room. They're reply was that the property was a franchise and we'd have to talk to the owner.
Nothing was done to resolve the issues we encountered by the local management or by Wyndham Hotels. Therefore, we will never stay at a La Quinta or any other Wyndham hotel again and strongly encourage anyone seeking a clean, comfortable property with care and concern for their guests...
