We stayed three nights at the beautiful home of Jim and Janelle, who are wonderful hosts. This was the oldest home we had ever stayed in, being built in the pre Civil War year of 1857. We stayed in the "Gold Room" and we were quite comfortable there. This room is on the lower level, has a comfortable queen size bed, two sitting chairs, and a nice size bathroom with a walk in shower. Parking was easy and right by their big wrap around porch that leads to the front door. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch and seeing an occasional train go by. There are several antique stores within a short drive and we took home some small treasures. We spent one day at the Mammoth Caves and took the Frozen Niagra Tour. Read moreWe loved staying here! It is a beautiful home with an interesting history. Jim and Janelle have done a wonderful job renovating & decorating it. Everything here is so quaint and adorable. The room we stayed in was very spacious, clean, and had a great bathroom considering how old this home is. They were so hospitable and friendly and the breakfast they served was wonderful. We definitely want to come back! While we were here, we explored Smiths Grove, went to the Corvette Museum, and did a cave tour. We arrived late, and our room was so nice the whole place was peaceful. I wish we could have stayed longer, but we were headed to Maryland and found this place on the way.
