When I arrived during open hours, the office was closed & locked. There was no sign or information telling me what to do or how to check in. I googled the property and called the phone number listed. I got a recording telling me to text or leave a voicemail. I did both while waiting in my car. I did receive a text response and was told to text my id. They charged my card, then I waited a few minutes more. I finally texted "Hello?". They texted me the unit number and check-in code. The room looked fine, so I unloaded and initially the tv seemed ok, but the options were extremely limited. Then it went out completely due to the internet being out. So I couldn't get online or stream on my computer either. I texted and the person said they had to reset it. I waited awhile, then texted asking when they thought that would be done. No reply. After waiting about 40 minutes with no reply, I called and of course got a recording. I left a voicemail saying I needed a refund . I texted this as well. No response. I called Expedia customer service, and they couldn't reach the staff either. They immediately gave me a full refund and I went to the local Best Western where I was treated like a queen, upgraded to a king suite, and given my points even though I hadn't booked on their site. I finally got a text response telling me they are "sorry you feel that way". Are you kidding me? How else am I going to feel? You could at least apologize for the bad service and experience. Then they had the nerve to tell me to "have a great evening". Well I did, but certainly not because of them. If you aren't going to be on-site, then text your guest explaining how to check in. I don't appreciate arriving to a locked office with no instructions. I never did speak with anyone. They just want to text. If you can deal with that, maybe it is still for you. Very...
Read moreI booked this cottage property because of all the great reviews and it looked super cute but I did not have a positive experience. I waited for 45 minutes until 3 pm in the parking lot for an employee to arrive. I figured someone would show up because check in is at 3 pm. The hours posted on the office said office hours are until 4 pm so when nobody arrived by 3 pm, I called the number listed for the property and then was given instructions by text how to enter a code to gain access to my room. Why nobody texted or emailed me instructions when I booked the room is beyond me. I had changed my travel plans so that I could get there right at 3 pm based on other reviews I read where people had issues checking in during evening hours. Arriving early did not benefit me and furthermore, when I finally gained access to my room, I found that the bathroom had not been cleaned, only the bed was made. The floor needed a sweep as well and the coffee had not been stocked. I would have appreciated a discount or refund but was told that I can not have a refund if I stayed in the room. So I decided to leave because I was not going to stay in a room that had a dirty toilet, sink and shower unless I got a discount, which was not offered. I had to load my belongings back into my car and go find a different hotel for the night. I wish my experience had been better because the room was cute, but very small. I wish my experience here had...

I wasn’t comfortable doing this as I’d never been asked for this before and so I left it thinking I would produce the ID at check in as normal.||We arrived at 3.25 pm which was within the check in hours stated that started at 3 pm. The accommodation is sited right next to a busy road. |The office was locked, there was no one there. I telephoned the number displayed and no one answered. As directed I left a message on the answer phone. ||30 minutes later (after a 6 hr journey along Route 66) we still hadn’t heard back so I rang again and left a second message.|Another 10 mins elapsed and we rang a third time. This time a lady answered. I explained the situation and she told me she didn’t have our booking, No apology or anything. I told her I had an email confirming our booking from Hotels.com , she took the reference number and reiterated she didn’t have our booking. ||When I telephoned Hotels.com later, after we had booked into another hotel , they told me that because I had failed to supply my ID the booking had not been confirmed which is why the lady had no...
