We had a six night stay booked with them and was excited about the spot we had and time to get away to relax. Apparently I did not book our reservations according to their rules. My understanding was we stayed the last day and night of the reservation and leave the next day which is what we were going to do and have always done. Starting just a few minutes after 3 pm we started getting calls from the corp of engineers, the park ranger and the camp hostess. The calls where to tell us to get out of that space there were people waiting on us to leave and we knew we were suppose to leave by three. They said if we did not get back to the park soon they were going to move our trailer out of that spot. I called the camp hostess to explain what I thought was right. She was not real nice to me and it was after 3pm we were to get out of that spot because there were people having to wait on us. The last thing I said to her was they were to do not touch our trailer. We did not clear out truck until the park ranger met us to explain their policy over what we thought was right. Needless to say the park ranger stayed until we left. My husband went over to apologize for the misunderstanding and the park ranger got out of his vehicle and stood there like my husband was going to cause problems. I know there have been wonderful things said about the park and I’m glad for those who had a good experience. We won’t be going back for a loooooooong time. We will go back to...
Read moreLove this place! Amazing views. Great campsite hookups. We came in a vanlife camper van and there is literally everything we need— water, electric, campfire and surprisingly great view directly out the window. The restrooms are super clean. There are showers. There’s lots of other campers and amenities, but it’s so quiet and peaceful. There is a place to walk out on the water—not sure what it’s called but is like a little peninsula with a great view of the dam. I was able to walk out at sunset and see a beautiful water view, in total silence. It was not exactly spectacular but it was very quaint and serene. I am very happy about this place. Also there’s a lot of free firewood just laying around. There’s lots of jungle gym parks for kids and there’s plenty of picnic tables and barbecue grills. Highly recommend! It’s a special place. Additionally, it’s self service online. There’s no hassle. Just pick your campsite and go online and viola! Love it here! I love the Arkansas nature and it reminds me of childhood! Also I appreciate that it is well kept and there’s very little trash laying around. It’s a perfect family environment. It’s great for people who love...
Read moreWe heard about these parks from some friendly Rv campers we met in Missouri. Since we would be heading back through Arkansas we figured why not check it out. I called ahead and was told they had plenty of space. Since it was outside the 3 day reservation window it was first come first served. We had our pick of a dozen plus sites. Having a 30ft 5th wheel eliminates a few sites but we found one. These sites are very spacious and not crowded as other places. The property is well kept and there’s lots of trees. The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water with great pressure. The site hosts wer friendly and helpful. You can fish for trout near the dam and that water was real warm. If you have a National Park pass you get discounted rates. Seniors for you it’s half off! One of the nicest and also the cheapest places we stayed. Bring your statalite antenna if you want tv. You find find any channels...
