Our family of over 50 people of 4 generations enjoyed a reunion at this retreat facility. WE were there for 7 days. The catered meals prepared by in house staff were delicious and bountiful. The chef even prepared a special family favorite based on a recipe we provided.
The various cabins, guest house units and lodge rooms were adequately stocked, clean and comfortable. Guests that were physically disabled drove from their cabin down to the conference room parking area. We enjoyed the setting next to the lake in the woods. There were shady areas for the hotter parts of the day.
The entire staff was friendly, responsive and helpful. I particularly appreciated the way the managers handled a booking error on my part.
Our group found interesting activities for all ages, from the on-site volleyball games, swimming pool play and local hiking to the trips to area waterfalls and into Nashville for the music scene. We also rented a pontoon boat one day and enjoyed riding and swimming in the lake.
The conference room was all ours for the week which was a great blessing for all our big group activities: visiting, eating, singing, sharing, table games, praying and laughing. The PA and projection systems in the conference room served us well for talent shows, family photos and videos.
The staff listened to our suggestions for improvements and shared with us their vision for continuing...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights in the Laurel, it was clean, comfy, quiet & bet friendly (brought out 1yr old MatliPoo). Perfect having a little table, grill and fire pit right outside. Only negative was the mattresses were hard, especially the king in the master bedroom but it may of been new and needing a little breaking in....Both the headboard/footboard in both bedrooms looked new/upgraded and the bed linens were nice...towels too.||||We fished at the boat doc one day, and my wife caught a 4-5lb largemouth bass in the morning and a 2lb hybrid bass in the evening. Had planned to canoe the Caney (canoe rental only 5 min away) but too much rain the second day we were there so the river was running to high/fast the following day. The folks at Canoe the Caney were happy to rent us a canoe and drop if off at the boat doc here so we could paddle the lake, or rent us one of their pontoons too which was great to know. We have a Pontoon in a slip at one of the larger marina on the lake so just went there our last day....worked out really well...||||The grounds were well maintained, and the staff really friendly. We felt welcome and...
Read moreWe came and stayed for a week last year and were so excited to return for another visit this year! Center Hill Lake is a beautiful spot in Tennessee surrounded by so many natural attractions and fun activities! The Retreat is hands down the place to enjoy this area of the state from! The lodge has been renovated this year and the rooms are perfect! The new mattresses and linens feel like a classy hotel rather than a lakeside cabin. The kitchenettes are crucial for a young family so that you can bring a full stock of snacks and meal items! The lakeside view from the lodge is so beautiful and the hard to come by on Center Hill Lake, easy access to a boat dock for a quick trip out on the lake is a definite perk. Not to mention the on site swimming pool, the delicious Hickory Cafe BBQ buffet on weekend nights, and the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff! Guest WiFi is available at great speeds too, so my husband didn’t feel totally disconnected from his work responsibilities. We love the Retreat and wouldn’t choose to experience the lake...
