Of the location is a 5 it's beautiful here. We had reservations but still had to wait for our spot. When we do get to our camp site it's flooded. Granted it was raining but we were in 3 inches of water setting up our camp trailer. We would have to pay the cancelation fees to move to different camp site. There were plenty of sites available and I double checked online to make sure but I was informed again that we would have cancelation fees. After a long day my husband and I went to take a shower. It was raining so we drove and parked at the showers. When we returned to the truck a white truck pulled up next to us with a spotlight shining in our windows. Then they followed us back to our camp site. 😐 This morning we had to change the tire on our trailer but our jack was missing. So we we're forced to use our bottle jack that doesn't like to stay jacked up. My husband is outside in the rain trying to get the tire on while he's being watched like a hawk.???????? So we moved to the day use area to continue trying to get the tire on the trailer and wouldn't you know it, the same white truck is parked right in front of us watching. We haven't done anything wrong yet we're being scrutinized. Why? If these people aren't careful they're going to drown in this rain with their stuck up noses. Not one of them tried to help. All we needed was a jack, that simple. They should be ashamed for treating people in...
Read moreWe have escaped the Arizona temperatures numerous summers with a trip to this wonderful Oregon State campground on the coast. Sixty-five degrees is the norm but you better not mind wind...because it can blow your hat away with one try. The campground is very large but most of the campsites have some privacy from your neighbors--particularly in the A and B loops. Many sites have full hookups...electric, water and sewer. Some have no sewer but there is a dump station outside C loop. Each loop has about 60 sites and each has restrooms with showers. It's a great place to walk your dog(s) and a short drive to any number of beaches where your dog(s) can run free. (Just make sure you bring your poop bags...no one wants "presents" left in the sand.) The town of Bandon is a few miles down the road with fresh fish, cranberry candies, lots of fun shops and the BEST ICE CREAM and cheese curds at the Face Rock Creamery. If you don't have your own camper... or tent... rent a Yurt. Just make sure you have reservations...this place...
Read moreGreat campground with nearby attractions or lots of hiking within the park. Has the best nightly talks (not now because of Covid). Can be hard to get a spot for several nights unless reserved months in advance. It's mostly 'levelish,' for easy walking. We have a mini motorhome and no tow car so stay put. Walked all the trails: beach, plus the maze of hidden trails behind picnic area, dock, tsunami trail, Bullard Family Cemetery, and Pearl's trail (sand dune, not a favorite). Ran into NO ONE on these walks-- where is everybody? No mask needed!||Dark side of campground that may end our visits... a matted weed that has spread to most areas. Prostrate vervain, aka verbena bracteata-- like a mini goatshead. It starts almost soft, but dries to segmented vicious stickers. We had to stop and pick them out of dog's paws several times. Sticks onto bottom of shoes, which spreads it. It's native so I don't see any chance to eradicate. Because our dog is a large part of our visit, we will probably stop going, or try...
