I dont know how to feel about this place, I think it COULD be perfect but it needs some work, when we arrived we was greeted with great customer service who was super happy to get is in, but as soon as we pulled up to our site and opened the truck door there was a super horrible odor that smelt like sewage , "our site was 37 , right by the pond" it was so bad my ol lady immediately looked at me and said " I can't stay here if that smell dont go away" before we even plugged in the rv Here's a list!
PROS- Great helpful staff Nice swimming lake Big shaded sites Decent playground Amazing Firework show
CONS Awful sewage smell
There was rubber gloves left on out site by the sewage hookups aluminum foil laying everywhere along with cigarette butts and other trash, "we are the leave it better than you found it type of family but I will not pick up that stuff..."
GOLF CART TRAFFIC IS LIKE TAXIS IN NEW YORK! They ARE EVERYWHERE and they do not enforce any rules and we had young kids driving through our site to go to the fishing pond, I dont care people walking through my site occasionally but not driving a whole damn golfcart through it when I have a toddler walking around...
TRASH everywhere, the pond has more worm tubs and pop cans floating around then it does fish, bottle caps and trash all over the place, there is trash everywhere.
DOG PARK Nothing fancy but it works, I mean its just a dog park but I went to grab a bag from the bin on front of the post and it was empty, and I could tell its been that way for a while becuase there was bird nest made in the bin *Edit The front office did solve the gold cart problem after we called which we didnt want to do but it was becoming so bad that a kid almost ran over my ebike and fire pit.
I cant speak on bathouses becuase we used our own, so with all of this said I'll stop with this, would I give this place another shot? Yes absolutely 💯 but it will not be on a Major holiday like it was this year, I think that may had contributed to all the trash and golf cart traffic they need more strict rules or more inforced rules with kids...
Read moreFirst off I had this booked for near 1 month and got there to find my spot occupied. After waiting in the 90 degree sun for a pretty good while for the staff to figure out the issue, I decided to just go back to the front where they seemed to not be in any hurry to do any thing. I then learned I was going to be moved to a spot that I did not choose. ( This first transaction made us late for what we had planned for the afternoon) so After persuading my wife who wanted to just go back home at this point, into at least trying to give it a chance we learned the main attractions of being here were closed. We were even run out of the swimming pond ( which was the only thing my little boy wanted to do.) The site it’s self it less then bad. We stayed past the ponds so don’t get those at all if you go stay up front if possible. It looks like they are in a desperate attempt to cram as many sites in a small spot as possible. All I get to look at 10 foot away from my camper is the camper next door’s sewer hookups. Up front wasn’t as bad. Also there is a 5mph speed limit for cars and rented carts, which is ok in my opinion but you are watched like a hawk by security and then see the staff flying on carts. (The security guard keep a good slow speed but not the rest.) Also it’s all gravel so dust is ridiculous. This place looks nice when rolling through the front and when online but once your here and realize you can’t do half the stuff that you came for, and the other stuff is to expensive to really do. Except fish in the upper pond and walk which I could do at the lake 5 miles down the road. I wouldn’t care to pay there high price of staying if everything was available and at reasonable prices. (Really everything should be free except the cart rental once you pay to stay) They should adjust the price according if they can’t offer the attractions. I live very close by but this will be my only trip here. I will not be back nor will anyone who asks my opinion of the place. It’s much better at Levi Jackson or holly bay camp where there prices are very fair for what all you...

“Friends I want to ask you do not use or refer family and friends to Laurel Lake Camping Resort in Corbin. Share my story as you feel appropriate. We booked a reservation before their system upgrade per the management we just spoke to. We booked two camp sites for July. At the time of booking my daughter was told she could cancel outside 30 days. I never received an email confirmation and we called back asking for confirmation email. They sent an email with Zero information included. There is a PDF attached which has no information in it. Now that we did not secure a camper for our dates and went to cancel, they referenced a cancellation policy we never saw nor was made aware if through their email process when we made the phone booking. I replied to the email multiple times. My daughter talked to them multiple times, My wife talked to them and I also did trying to find out details of the site, which I never received, only verbally over the phone. They behaved as a small operation, which is fine when you conduct yourself with integrity and provide good customer service. Neither of which they did. Now that we cancelled they informed us they will keep 100% of the deposit and we are more than 60 days before our reservation. Again, The management on the phone admitted their system has been upgraded 5 times by that we just talked to and made the comment of people don't receive or they do not receive emails all the time. Well, I received theirs with no info, so seems like they have practiced their blame of technology on others besides me.
While I overpaid for a lesson learned I ask you to avoid them. My large family will for sure. If they miss out only only a couple of bookings because of my experience during their slow season then karma has worked.
Stay away from Laurel Lake...
