My husband and I just got back home from celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at Lucille's Mountain Top Inn and Spa. Hurricane Irma knocked out their power at the beginning of the week and was still out when we arrived on Friday, September 15th. We were warned ahead of time that the showers would be cold but that we would be given a "cold shower" discount if we wanted to keep our reservations. They ran a generator to support the kitchen and any essentials needed to keep the Inn running and even hooked up a TV in the living room if someone just needed to watch a TV (however, with those beautiful mountain views, who needs a TV?). This made our second visit to Lucille's and, other than the invigorating showers--which I didn't think was too bad, this visit was just as wonderful as our first. The chef/chefs did not skip a beat on the breakfasts or homemade evening desserts. They used a headlamp for light in order to prepare and cook the breakfasts...some of the best food I have ever put in my mouth!!! The owner's were wonderful and concerned that everyone had what they needed to enjoy their stay. They gave each room a battery operated lantern and a small flashlight to maneuver around the inn with. They also had battery operated "candles" all around the interior rooms of the inn which, to me, made it very romantic. We were told that the Inn was completely booked but that several canceled their reservations upon hearing of the power outage...they missed out on an incredible weekend in my opinion!! And by the way...the power was back on at 5PM on Saturday. Thanks for the wonderful anniversary getaway Chuck and Charlie.

We have a very long history with Lucille's. My wife and I have been coming here since 2002 and in that time, we've visited somewhere between 10-12 times. We have brought family and friends, and those individuals have also stayed here over the years. My wife even celebrated her 30th birthday here when George and Lucille still owned the place. I say all this to say I have a very special place in my heart for this inn, so it's hard for me to say anything negative at all about the place. However, this time around, we were disappointed in the suite we chose. The suite itself was very spacious and beautifully decorated. It would have been perfect, except it was not cleaned well prior to our arrival. We found several hairs in the bed (a first for Lucille's), and a yellow substance on one of the pillows. Then much to our dismay, there was what appeared to be mold growing on the ceiling above the shower. In addition, the bathroom floor was not cleaned well. I do want to say that besides that, the stay was wonderful. Every single person on staff that we encountered was warm and friendly. Alex in particular was so kind and easy to chat with. The ladies who served us at breakfast were wonderful and we couldn't have asked for better food each morning. Breakfast was truly delicious! All in all, this will not deter us from returning, and the state of the bathroom was the only reason I'm not able to give 5 stars.

I want to start off by giving credit to my sister in law who did the research and contributed to this effort. We wanted to do something different and new for her sister's birthday. I tried to arrange the pictures in such a way as to introduce everything. I almost thought I was lost when I took the road up the hill, but that is the charm of this getaway. Once you reach the hotel, you are immediately greeted by the beautiful landscape. Inside, everything is clean, modern, intimate, and inviting. There are great views of the natural landscape, including flowers, trees, and the surrounding hills. I took a picture of the dessert menu and the food for that Saturday evening that we stayed and breakfast for the Sunday morning 🌄 that we were leaving. Everything was fresh and delicious 😋. The suite we stayed in was immaculate. Comfort, cleanliness, and convenience throughout. The left (I confirm) and right (I believe) side of the brown couch and the single beige chair are power actuated for that additional relaxation. If I could, I would model the interior of my house after this suite. The spa represents an extension of Lucille's in every way. Based upon your personal preferences and needs, the staff will customize your treatment to make your experience as relaxing as possible. Lucille's was definitely a great experience, and I am looking forward to coming back.

What can I say about Lucille's that hasn't been said before? This is truely an amazing place all around. If you are looking for a stress free. small, beautiful wedding location, choose Lucille's! All it takes is one visit to fall in love.

My husband and I were looking for a place to have a small wedding on a small budget, but we didn't want to settle for a place we didn't love. We visited Lucille's to take a tour and see the sights. As we reached the top of the hill, the view took our breath away. Meeing Jerry was a delight, he covered all the bases and was upfront about the service at Lucille's stating that they only work with the best to insure the quality of your big day. He was so much fun as he showed us around the Inn. He was extremely candid with all of the rooms, even showing us the ones that were in the process of being cleaned. It was nice to see that they were not trying to hide anything. The rooms are all decorated to perfection and the views are gorgeous. We decided by the time we got to the car that we were going to get married there. Jerry literally took care of everything. The cake, the flowers, the photograhper, and the DJ were all coordinated by Jerry. All I had to choose was the colors, flavors and songs. It couldn't have been any easier.

When the day had finally arrived, it was raining and we had to move the ceremony inside the dining room. The view was still beautiful, as the dining room is covered wall to wall with windows. The ceremony went smoothly and the music was great. The flowers were amazing and spot on as well as the cake. It was much more then I ever expected. The photographer was great and got the pictures to us on a disk within a few days after the ceremony.

We stayed the one night included in the package and then added another one on. Like I said before, the rooms are outstanding. We chose room #5 as it has the famous bubble tub. The room had a great view with a fireplace divinding the bedroom and bathroom. The bubble tub was so relaxing. The doubled headed rainfall shower stall was also very nice. The sheets and robes they provide for your stay are so incredibly soft and they are for sale in the lobby! They provide you with bath salts, soap, shampoo and conditioner as well as a vanity kit and shower cap. The towels are soft and clean. The breakfast is really something to rave about. It changes from day to day and gets better every morning. Coffee, tea, water and soft drinks are available 24 hours in the dining room for free. The evening desserts are also very delicious. We didn't make it to the spa, but we plan on visiting again soon to do so. If it's anything like the Inn, I imagine it would be wonderful!

When we left, we were sad to go but so happy we decided on Lucille's. Please take a drive if you are local and just visit the place (give a call and schedule an appointment first) if you are trying to plan a small budget wedding. You will get high quality service for an amazing price. The guests and employees of Lucille's are great people and I highly reccommend you...

From 2019 - our 25 wedding anniversary and of course we HAD to return to Lucille’s. We booked the new garden suite. It is a gorgeous room. We didn’t get to stay in it but stuff happens and there was a leak. Conscientious of our expectations and wanting us to be 110 percent happy, we were called to be informed and offered their top accommodations as a replacement. Now that’s a place that cares for your happiness. We were overwhelmed and exceeding delighted. Delightful breakfasts, scrumptious desserts, amazing spa treatments (we got the anniversary package deal). Lucille’s is a wonderful relaxing beautiful to all your senses vacation that will leave you feeling as though you never want to leave. The beds are divine...you sleep like a baby. Everyone was wonderful. They seem to work as a team to make sure you are cared for without you feeling hovered over or invaded upon when you are relaxing either indoors or out. Taimeka is here and there and always doing something but you barely catch see her. She served us one morning and has such a bright happy attitude, smiling at you that you can’t help smiling in return. Lydia, could be seen occasionally around the kitchen. She’s sweet charming caring and served our breakfast while cooking it our last morning there. She’s so eager to please you just want to give her a squeeze (hug). It was hard to just mention a couple. Samantha greeted us, gave us a tour and checked that our last breakfast was concluded without any other needs. Of corse meeting Chuck and Charlie, the owners was pleasant making us feel that they truly care that their guests are cared for.

From 2015 “Gorgeous, beautiful exquisite. First class. Interesting architecture. Touches around the building that add to experience. Koi pond with waterfall, porch swing, gliders, rockers, jacuzzi tubs in rooms, windows open to capture fresh mountain air, upper room to get a 360 degree view. Breakfast food that is so delicious with desserts available in the evenings. You feel pampered and rested. The quiet is so quiet. Birdsong and frogs are practically the only sounds and they enhance the experience. Did I forget to mention there's a spa? That's an experience you won't want to miss either. The most relaxing vacation I've EVER...

Had a nice time views were great. However, my surprise experience was ruined by Alex. I brought my wife here for her birthday and she didn't know anything I had prepared. However, she essentially found out the details that were pretty sentimental once we checked in. Alex went down the list essentially. I had paid for and was promised a specific flavor cake and it was wrong even after I followed up on the details before arriving and paid for the Birthday Surprise package.. well it was no longer a surprise when at check in the details of the surprise was blurted out. Alex however, was very apologetic and tried her best to get the poop back in the horse. I was appreciative of her effort. She told me that well "how about I just refund the whole thing back to you" I told her I appreciate it and she also offered to got to store and get a replacement cake for the one that was not correct (the new cake bought still was wrong flavor-but okay.) I was disappointed to come to check out and was told she only promised to refund the "cake". I'm like okay no problem because I didn't want to argue with not only what I heard her say but also the principal behind it all. I still paid for the Birthday Surprise package that was not a surprise and still will consider coming back one day. Because overall it was a great experience the staff was very nice and the views outstanding. Just a few attention to details to prevent service failures would have given 5 stars and also returning the costs of the breakfast package for what could be potentially loyal lucrative spending guests would have gone a much longer way. We even were considering coming for Thanksgiving but when Patsy advised of Alex's response to what we heard stated. We just decided to reconsider for maybe another time and give it a breather before considering coming back. Prefer to wait until after the sting of disappointment wears off. However, we have recommended this place to a few friends since our visit and they intend...
