This B&B in a lovely centuries-old farmhouse has lots of great windows with views of their spectacular 13 acres, which are comprised of forest and wetlands surrounding a rolling meadow filled with wildflowers and apple trees. I stayed at Cornwall Orchards for three of the most relaxing days I've had in a long time. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, yet the place is right on a main road and only a couple minutes from downtown Middlebury. The bed was extremely comfortable--I slept better than I have in ages! New owners Lise and Miles are apparently committed to making their B&B a model of sustainability, e.g. all natural rugs, bedding, soaps and shampoos, they make jam and applesauce for breakfast from the fruit that grows organically on the property, etc. And they've added their aesthetic touch to the place, with a fun mix of old and new decorating. Highly recommend staying here.

My fiancee and I spent the weekend at Cornwall Orchards and had an amazing time. The hosts were so friendly and warm and the B&B was perfect. You can tell the building was built specifically as a Bed and Breakfast because it's surprisingly large and has bedrooms that feel like they're in their own private wing/area of the home. The kitchen is huge, there's an equally large fireplace, and there's a deck in the back that extends quite far. We couldn't utilize the deck since we were there in the winter, but it's something to keep in mind for warmer months. We especially loved all of the small details of the place which were exclusively VT and green (in the environmental sense). Even the soaps were locally sourced! And last but not least, the breakfast was fantastic. Seriously, those waffles are divine. I've attached some pics and thanks again to Lise and Miles for a great weekend!

This place is amazing!! I went up with my wife and some friends and can’t imagine a scenario this place isn’t perfect. It worked well with a big group but would also be great just as a couple as it’s very easy to retreat to your own room and get some privacy. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the hosts were more than happy to walk us around. We skated on the frozen pond and saw a bunch of beaver activity. The house was always cozy and warm. At an Airbnb you feel like you’re still in someone else’s home, but here they make you feel like you’re visiting an old friend. We were easily able to utilize their place as our home base to go skiing. Coming back to a nice cozy fire and home cooked food felt great! Also close to downtown Cornwall which was a super cute little town. Hands down will do this again the next time I’m even semi in the area!

Wow! What an amazing Bed and Breakfast experience! Lise and Miles were incredibly warm and welcoming - exceptional hospitality. Each morning Miles made a delicious breakfast from locally sourced ingredients (we got to try fruit, yogurt, granola, eggs, toast, pancakes, sausage, and salad during our stay). We enjoyed breakfast time sitting at the table conversing with other guests about their travels. Miles and Lise had excellent recommendations for eateries and activities in the Middlebury area. We felt like during our limited time in the area we got to see the highlights because of their recommendations, that catered towards our interests. The room was clean and comfortable with an incredible view of the garden behind the house (see picture of the lovely view). The B&B is located just a few minutes drive from Middlebury College and the enchanting town of Middlebury. It was a great location. We also made friends with their wonderfully loving cat, Juno (and I say that not being a cat person). The next time that we are back in Vermont we will definitely try to stay at the Cornwall Orchards Bed and...

Where to even begin with Cornwall Orchards? Miles and Lise, obviously! In getting to know these two wonderful people for just the weekend, my guess is that there is no one more suited to running a B&B in Vermont. They are gracious hosts--providing hospitality in a thoughtful and charming way. They are knowledgeable about the local area (and many other topics), AND they cook a gorgeous, locally-sourced breakfast. They even made special egg-free dishes and cookies for me. What a treat! ||||The Cornwall Orchards grounds are well-worth exploring especially if you like gardening, ecology, and permaculture practices. The house itself brims over with history and books--it's delightful. I could really feel the care that went into making this place a special retreat.||||Thank you both so much for going above and beyond for us. Our trip to explore the Middlebury area wouldn't have been nearly as well-rounded and insightful if it weren't for you. We are looking forward to spending more time there and will plan to be in touch for...
