My recent stay at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites in Corpus Christi was largely positive, particularly thanks to the exceptional front desk staff. From the moment I checked in, they were incredibly welcoming and a true delight, a stark contrast to the less-than-enthusiastic greetings I've encountered at other establishments.
I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call on the morning of my arrival. This thoughtful gesture, perhaps due to my tendency to arrive early at Choice Hotels, seemed aimed at ensuring my room would be ready if needed sooner. They also took the opportunity to remind me about the refundable deposit fee. While some past guests have expressed surprise about this standard charge, I appreciated the proactive communication, which confirmed a detail I was already aware of. It's a smart move to ensure guests are fully informed beforehand.
My room, a corner unit on the second floor, was perfectly fine, and navigating the stairs with my light luggage wasn't an issue. Upon entering, the room was quite warm, with the thermostat reading a balmy 85 degrees. It took a few minutes for the AC to bring the temperature down to a comfortable 70 degrees. Given the heat in Texas, it would be a nice touch if the hotel kept the AC running, even on a low fan setting, to ensure guests enter a cool and inviting space.
Beyond the initial warmth, the room itself was decently clean and free of any bugs, which was a relief given some past reviews. While they don't offer a full breakfast, coffee is available in the mornings. It was a bit disappointing to only find regular coffee, especially since a decaf machine was present but not in use.
Overall, the positive interactions with the staff significantly enhanced my stay. With a small adjustment to room temperature pre-arrival and perhaps a broader coffee selection, this Econo Lodge would be...

Read moreI can't speak for some of the other people who had bad experiences but my husband & I & two kids under 10 slept very well here. We were just in town for one night. The room was VERY clean. I always do a room inspection before we bring our things in. No stains, dirty floors or bathroom. Everything was as if I cleaned it myself (which im a perfectionist & have worked as a hotel cleaning lady before). They also have a laundry room which i found very convenient for when we got back from the beach! I was extremely happy about the price of the room as well. For it being Spring Break on a Friday everywhere else was outrageous in cost & had not so good reviews. I only paid $126 after taxes. Everywhere else was double if not more than that & had pest & stain problems. I researched for 3 days hotels in the area before i booked this one. No it wasn't on the beach like I wanted but paying less & staying at a bug free & clean hotel is way better in my book. Overall experience was perfect. We had a 2 queen room (room#110). It had a mini fridge, microwave & coffee maker. Nice cold AC system, ceiling fan & plenty of towels! The pool is even open! I highly recommend this place if your wanting a good deal & a clean place. I don't mind driving 8 mins up the road to the attractions (USS Lexington & Aquarium) as long as I'm in a nice, clean place. It was our fist time staying in a Econo Lodge. We took a chance and trusted the majority good reviews (especially compared to other hotels) & we thankfully had a wonderful experience. Ill definitely be booking with them in the future. (Pics below, forgot to take pictures of the beds though.. sorry. I will say though. Beds were very comfortable. Soft sheets and nice Fluffy pillows. I was...
